If you looked at history, Almost a third of Europe’s population was wiped out by the Bubonic Plague in the middle ages.

The bubonic plague first emerged in China more than 2,600 years ago. - The disease spread towards Western Europe along the Silk Road, starting more than 700 years ago, and then to Africa. - Plague even came to the United States from China via Hawaii in the late 19th century.

Fortunately, we have a cure for this type of disease today.

But you are right — these plagues from ancient times till today originated from China.

I was think contemporary times, last hundred years or so, but that’s an interesting point.
