Dean says he's not worried Sanders would harm down-ballot Democratic candidates

Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) said on Sunday that he is not concerned that down-ballot candidates would be hurt if Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) wins the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Dean on "State of the Union" if he is “concerned of what it might mean for the Democratic Party in terms of winning the White House in November or winning down-ballot tickets” if Sanders is the nominee.

Dean, a former Democratic National Committee chairman and 2004 presidential candidate, answered that he is not worried “at all.”

“I’ll tell you why. [Sanders] certainly is a polarizing candidate, but we have an incredibly polarizing person on the other side,” Dean said, referring to President Trump.

Dean added: "YEEEEEEEEEEEE, HAAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!"

oh, wait. that's not dignified ... Actually, I posted this to spark a discussion about my campaign advice to the GOP, namely make EVERY Congressional contest in the nation a NATIONAL referendum on NATIONAL policy differences between Sanders and Trump, and forget the 20th Century nonsense about every election being "local" ...

It's my opinion, that EVERY Dem candidate should be made to either embrace or repudiate every reprehensible proposed policy by Bernie Sanders, and I hope this thread gets seen by RNC and Trump campaign officials ...

In particular, here's just a few issues that would make damning ads if these comments are on vid:

"I favor the public ownership of utilities, banks and major industries"

"I will also be calling for public ownership of the telephone company"

"I would also urge you to give serious thought about the eventual nationalization of these gigantic companies (Oil and Gas)"

"I believe that, in the long run, major industries in this state and nation should be publicly owned"

"I believe in socialized medicine, public ownership of the drug companies and placing doctors on salaries"

Down ballot dems have their own problems. They grabbed guns. They voted for impeachment. They savaged Kavanaugh. They pushed the dossier hoax. They pushed abortion up to day of birth. They push collectivism.

Mr. Dean is delusional.

Down ballot democrats need to defend the loss of medical insurance for 180 million Americans, taxing 401k transactions, loss of available housing due to national rent control, sky high energy costs due to government takeover of the energy sector, radical Green carbon taxes, and more.

Bernie is a cancer that democrats deserve.

totally ... definitely tailor the national ads with specific attacks on a per contest basis ...

EVERY down-ticket Dem candidate should be made to comment on every reprehensible policy of Bernie Sanders....repudiate or endorse the issues.

Sanders endorses:

“I favor the public ownership of utilities, banks and major industries”

“I will also be calling for public ownership of the telephone company”

“I would also urge you to give serious thought about the eventual nationalization of these gigantic companies (Oil and Gas)”

“I believe that, in the long run, major industries in this state and nation should be publicly owned”

Be aware that MOST voters under the age of 45 support these things.

In all demographics.

Public education has done its job for these kiddos.

Over 50’s are in denial if they think otherwise.

I wouldn’t expect any down ballot candidates to repudiate any of these things. Likely they all support this too.

“I’ll tell you why. [Sanders] certainly is a polarizing candidate, but we have an incredibly polarizing person on the other side.."

Mr.(Dr.)? Dean, you tired, old also-ran, the issue is polarizing within the Democratic Party. Get a better script..

Bernie Sanders had a huge number of people who are willing to buy his bag of magic beans.
So far the only people who support the socialist party are felons, illegals and stoners all uneducated and are suckers for a sales pitch.

So true. I’m not sure conservatives really understand the damage done to the young people. A neighbor is having so many arguments with her high school daughter,,,the daughter just says, “Wait till Bernie gets in there, he’ll make things better!”

Really sad. And if the high school kids feel this way, what about all those liberal voters between 21 to 45? It’s going to take lots of prayer once again in November.

I work with many people in this demographic, albeit in a large metropolitan area, and this sentiment appears correct to me. Forty years ago, when this socialist cancer began to invade the educational system, action should have been taken by the "greatest generation" to expunge those preaching the cancerous drivel.

I don’t think anyone can predict what effect having Comrade Bernie on the top of the ticket will have on the down ballot. He will bring in a lot of brainwashed kids but he also is vicious little Marxist so we just don’t know. The one thing we can say if they screw Bernie and his base knows it the rats will take a beat down.

That didn’t happen.

Because women were ‘freed’ to work and no longer had time to be involved in their kids lives.

Granite countertops, McMansions, 2 NICE cars and disney vacations were far more important than taking time to bother with what Miss Bolshevik was teaching your kiddos in jr. high history class.

There were LOTS of freepers who were in wholesale denial this was happening too. Not much denial these days as their loser kids are living at home or just waiting for them to die so they can get their money. Meanwhile all those kiddos and grandkiddos are bernie bros.

Anyone in the 45-60 demographic can forget getting any healthcare once we reach 70. The kiddos will give us the boot so they can get our stuff.

Our mail lady, who is 40 and voted for trump in ‘16, is a wholesale bernie supporter now. She listens to some podcast while she drives her route. Totally brainwashed her. She wholeheartedly believes in ‘climate crisis’ and ‘evil corporations’. And that ‘something has to change’. Trump supporters beware...she’s not the only one. She’s got 2 kids on the ASD spectrum, is overworked and thinks mean republicans are denying her kids the treatments that will cure them. There’s no arguing with her either. She’s also taking a handful of psych meds that probably don’t help.

National ownership of business by the gov’t. What a great idea, Bernie! If you like the way gov’t runs the Post Office, your local license branch, Amtrak, and all of the other bureaucracies, Bernie’s your man. If you still have one neuron firing somewhere in your brain, he’s the worst choice on the planet.

I started to mention about the podcasts! My neighbor says her daughter just listens to many podcasts, the mother doesn’t even know what they are.

No telling what is being piped into the brains of these young people and their parents have no clue. And even as you said, the 40 year old mother listening to them also and is now for Bernie,,, and how many others?

Are the Trump people making podcasts to somehow counteract this?

I don’t care how big the Trump rallies are, we all better be praying really hard for this election.
