Yep, Greyhound knows their “customer” base and it ain’t us.
Back in 2013, I rode Greyhound for the first time in 30 years....for a simple two-hour trip.
So there was the 2-hour wait at the bus terminal. Outside the door....mostly drunks and addicts. They had a security guy who was probably a failure at the mall operation. I don’t think the place had been painted since 1965. From the four ladies running the place....no one knew much of anything and I seriously doubt that any of them had finished high school.
The bus trip? I sat near the back and the five people around me....had all been released from prison that morning. The two ladies in front of me? They were desperately trying to reach Detroit, and seemed to be of the hooker-trade.
We were about 15 minutes down the interstate, with some idiot acting weird and making a run to the rear toilet. Ten minutes pass, and the driver pulls over, with cops behind us (lights flashing), and they make their way to rear toilet, to yank this guy off. He was all pumped up on some kind of drug and acting weird....talking about aliens and flying horses as they escort him off the bus.
It was the first time since 1979 that I’d rode a Greyhound, and the last time.
