Greyhound says it will stop allowing Border Patrol agents without a warrant to board its buses to conduct routine immigration checks.
The nation's largest bus company made the announcement on Friday - a week after The Associated Press reported on a leaked Border Patrol memo confirming that agents can't board private buses without the consent of the bus company.
Greyhound had previously insisted that even though it didn't like the immigration checks, it had no choice under federal law but to allow them.
n an emailed statement, the company said it would notify the Department of Homeland Security that it does not consent to unwarranted searches on its buses or in areas of terminals that are not open to the public - such as company offices or any areas a person needs a ticket to access.

RICO...not Rico Suave, either. Charge them as a criminal enterprise, since they’ve publicly stated their intent to promote immigration fraud and obstruction of justice, this isn’t a reach.
Seize the assets, pay down the debt with the sale, move along.
Fine, get a warrant for wanted criminal “Juan Lopez” and check every damn bus to see if he’s onboard. Easy.
Yes. Write Greayhound off. But don’t write off Border Patrol Agents armed with search warrants and accompanied byy other law enforcement agents.
Add suspension of his or her CDL and P/S endorsementa.
Did I say a warrant was required?
Read what I wrote.
Yeah, it's "probable" that there are wetbacks on that bus.
(plus the passengers don't own the bus)
Is it possible to get something like an open ended warrant which would allow ICE to stop and board any form of public transportation in the search of illegal aliens?
But they are constitutionally secure in their persons against unreasonable searches and seizures without reasonable suspicion and probable cause.
Border checkpoints have been stopping buses for years. This wont change.
This is about interior enforcement. Bus passenger checks in places like Florida.
Why can’t they just cash them at a bank like everyone else?
What about if the border patrol guys have a ticket to ride?
So what about the road blocks checking on any motor vehicle operators who may be dui?
Is it possible to get something like an open ended warrant which would allow ICE to stop and board any form of public transportation in the search of illegal aliens?
Or an Open Ended warrant to search any Americans home or vehicle at any time?
Pretty soon following our politicians respect for laws, there won’t be anyone obeying Federal or any other laws. We know the ones passing them don’t obey them so why should the general public?
Read Peter Schweizer’s “Extortion” and see how they bend rules and regulations to enrich themselves. We call them crooks but we don’t have any idea how bad they are.
Mark Twain had it right:
There is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”
I can foresee a lot of DOT safety checks in their future. F*ck with the bull, get the horns.
There are rules for roadblocks as well that protects people from wanton government invasion of your person - planned, fair, impartial, and limited-time roadblocks with fair warning - again to protect your freedom against government abuse.
That is a good thing. The Constitution gives rules to confine government to reasonable acts against citizens, without which government will run amok.
“”I foresee the entire Greyhound bus inventory being held at the San Onofre station, pending inspection...””
Your post caught my eye. They’d have to remove all the BP cars that are parked there to have room for the buses. It always amazed me going past, that there wasn’t a soul in sight but sure were a lot of government cars parked. I think they get together for poker games there. In over 40+ years to and from San Diego from OC, never saw the check point open!
Time to pull Greyhounds licenses.
