My only comment about prisons is that Epstein didn’t kill himself.
And yes, the legal definition of "child" in this context is far too broad.
Or a childhood friend committed suicide over an incident, or someone got one of the guys kids.
Otherwise, why harsh everybody's fun like that? Gotta admit the guy had a practical point. It's just unfortunate that he couldn't have jumped in a time machine and gone back and got them pre-emptively BEFORE they did what they did, then the Governor could give him a pardon and he could have a parade and stuff.
And yes, so long as we're getting all serious about it, it's a fair bet that he was abused as a kid.

I agree, not too many friends here, but then after all, what separates us from pre-historic societies, with vigilante justice and revenge killings, other than our judicial system, with checks and balances?
There are two problems that I see: First, where does it end? Today, child molesters, tomorrow, old-age attackers, Sunday, maybe speeding tickets?
The other problem...on the other side too, is whether a TOTALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL criminal justice system (i.e., California) is capable, anymore, of protecting society from these animals. In many cases now, the answer is NO.
So, in the end, I’m mixed on this.
It’s typical for CaCa prisons. Similar to 3rd world prisons, Turkish prisons etc.

So you are saying that 18 year olds who stautorily rape their 17.9 yo girlfriends should get the death penalty?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it might have to with the climate and coastal difference. Have you lived in North Dakota long?
I agree, lets release the multiple murderer back into society. He should even be drafted into babysitting children.
Assign him to the Boy Scouts and Catholic investigative teams.
This is probably one of the most unattractive sides to the posters at FR, their cheerful encouragement of killings in prison by felons.
I have spoken about this for years. If these criminals need to die, change the laws and make the death penalty work.
But rooting for their deaths in prison by felons shows a lack of moral fiber, courage or respect for the rule of law.
Frankly, I think people in prison should be locked up individually in cells with out much freedom at all. To protect themselves from each other and to protect their guards.

I have a friend who LEFT North Dakota because of the cold.

I have no information on his original murder conviction, for all we know it was some gang scumbag. What I do know is he did more to protect society and children than our law system does. I also believe in redemption.
