Im OK with this if its truly all for purely seasonal work such as crab pickers on Marylands eastern shore or various service workers in the vicinity of Yellowstone National park.

In Mr. Trumps first two years in office, DHS raised the cap by 15,000 visas to 81,000, and last year it raised the cap by 30,000 to 96,000.The cap should be 0. Hire American!

Good. A lot of stuff, ranging from construction to harvesting, has been held up by lack of laborers. As long as theyre vetted and legal, it sounds like a great idea.

WTF? Just pay college students a little more.
To: Theoria
Have a friend who works at a local college. In several of the jobs (that pay minimum wage + 70 cents) they can’t get native born workers to take the jobs. So more and more of these jobs are being filled (where they can) with international students.
They can’t pay more per hour due to some law (maybe Federal), but students just don’t want to work at those jobs for those rates.

Of course the Adminstration is raising the cap, this program is essential to the operation of the Trump Organization’s resorts in Florida and New Jersey.

It wasnt clear whether the White House has fully signed off on the numbers, and an administration official cautioned they could change.
Any numbers reported on at this time are being pushed to press by junior staff who are not privy to all of the discussions taking place.

Very disappointing. Raise wages and pay Americans to work.
