Both Comcast & ATT should be broken up.

Telecom must not also control the news.

great idea - Fox News is now run by RINOs such as Paul Ryan.

OANN will need to be re-branded... I expect Don Jr to be involved in this transaction.

This would be great! Love OANN - in studio ops are fine/ great reporters but they have issues with their sound and communications during broadcasts very often. I think it’s a budget issue which maybe a big investor can solve.

If Trump started going on OANN I think you’d see a big ratings shift ...

Why doesn't Breitbart and OANN merge?

Breitbart has the online and Sirius XM presence; OANN has the news channel and anchors.

It's a logical match, then all they have to do is create a messaging board for people to comment and bypass Twatter.

President Trump has a brand name that is gold. The “Trump University” was an excellent resource for young people and yes, the superior, chosen media people hated it and shut it down. OAN is excellent and needs a Trump investment to go big. And I wish Trump would move away from Twitter and more forward to Gab.

Hope Hicks has recently rejoined POTUS DJT campaign.
Any family connection there?

Do miss network’s honesty when reporting news. OAN is the most honest out there; FNC has completely fallen apart since R. Ailes departed.

Brilliant move, should it happen. MAGA!

IMO, any buyout of OAN orchestrated by one of the Trumps would mean that OAN would begin to stream online for free...so distribution would become HUGE.

Trump could continually link to it from his Twitter feed. :-)

Fox allows all their content to be distributed free on Youtube...the fact you can watch any of the FOX News shows there proves this.

CNN has been free online in real-time for quite a few years now...and still nobody watches :-)

Trump could also make it available for independent TV stations to carry OAN for free or very low-cost...ditto talk-radio stations.

Hope they fix Liz Wheeler’s audio so she sounds a little less shrill

https://www.oann.com/tippingpoint/

And get rid of the Junior High communications class “reporters”.

In a world where OANN is virtually the only news network telling the truth, it’s hard to believe this is a good thing. A bunch of Republican money men? The kind that paid for the Mitt Romneys of the world? No thanks. OANN should crowdsource and stay independent.

Any connection here on behalf of Trump's cronies with Trump's rather awkward comments against Fox last night at the Detroit rally?

Jus askin'…

The network launched in 2013 and boasts that they report straight news with no opinion—in a stab at cable TV news in general and doesn’t subscribe to Nielsen ratings so there is no reliable data available on viewership.

Trump has been critical of Fox News from time to time and even tweeted that he watches OANN, but is well aware that if he wants to reach a large conservative audience, Fox News is the only way to do that.

For the potential buyers, OANN represents an inexpensive way to build a conservative alternative to Fox News while expanding the conservative media universe.

The journalism cartel produced by the wire services (see my #34) conspires against the public (as Adam Smith would have predicted). It does so by propagandizing the public to the effect that journalists are objective. It thereby changes the meaning of “objective” from “neutral” to “whatever perspective which the journalism cartel projects.” This is the cause of herd journalism - deviate from the herd and you are “not a journalist, not objective.”

And make no doubt, journalism has an inherent perspective which is related to interesting the public - which is quite a different thing from “the public interest.” Journalism interests the public by reporting unexpected events, which is a category dominated by bad news.

The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men,
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
Robert Burns
Once commit to a search for bad news, and you, dear journalist, are systematically negative. That is your perspective. When you call that negativity “objective,” when you claim that “negativity is objectivity,” you are cynical.

It is therefore the case that altho you may, laudably, try to be objective - and if so, even unobjectionably claim that - to claim actual objectivity is to mark you as a cynic. And, therefore, no conservative.

The journalism cartel with its pseudo objectivity engages in sophistry. The classical Greek response to the Sophists’ claims of superior wisdom was the development of “philosophy.” Philosophy eschews argumentation from claims of authority (e.g., superior wisdom) and systematically claims only to love (and seek) wisdom. Under the pressure of the sophistry of the journalism cartel, talk radio hosts perforce cling to the “philosophy” model.
