How much does Roku cost? Does it work in a rugged area with a high iron content? Can anyone help with the questions.
Depending on the model, between $19-$50. Its just a streaming device. No monthly service. You can download all sorts of apps for programing, free movies, etc. most new tvs have Roku bult into it, TCL tvs for example ( grest tv’s btw)
The Roku convert the Internet television channel to something your TV sees as looking like your DVD player playing content and you control the Rokus channels using the Roku remote.
A lot of channels are free, but Netflix and Amazon Prime do cost something. We watch a lot of Amazon prime video over Roku, for instance, but we still have our antenna for normal broadcast channels.
Roku does not cost anything on the right type of TV
Roku needs at least a 10mb down internet. Here in the rural area its 3mb down...enough for my wife to watdh a youtube video and me to read FR...not much more...

You can still get a lot on Youtube though. I watch it as much as anything else. Lately there’s a ton of Russian war movies.
Roku operates via internet streaming.
Yes, we have You Tube on nearly all the time via Roku. And dare I say, you can get Fox News live amongst other channels.
After watching their reporting on the Roger Stone case just now, it’s just another mouthpiece for the folks who disseminate left wing news with LOTS of commercials. I added the channel on ROKU just to find out what they were and I just deleted the channel after I found out what they were.
If this is an example of their coverage, I am going to pass.

IMHO, it’s quite slanted against Stone and favoring Obama’s judge and her loser DOJ prosecutor cabal.
Ha ha, you beat me to it!.
Yeah, not a single mention of the tainted jury. They hammered home what the judge said to Stone at sentencing, (pp) ‘This isn’t about you working for Trump, this is about you covering up for Trump’. The reporter was so effervescent about that. I gave the channel the “I hate it!” rating and deleted it.
So sorry!
LOL!
I didn’t DL to ROKU yet but thats a great idea, I’ll 1-star them as well for “offensive content!”
I have four ROKU devices connected to four TVs. The TV here next to my desk has 73 "channels" selected but probably half are not even activated. The ones at the top are Amazon Prime, The Criterion Channel, hulu, OAN, Sky News, Youtube, Newsmax TV, Nasa TV, and a large number of free movie channels, I have a few games such as tetris, angry birds, mazes, mah jongg.
ROKU even has a media player for personal media files but I have not tried to use it.
I have used ROKU for several years and last year got rid of the cable and am solely on ROKU now.
A channel that I haven't mentioned yet is "fuboTV" It is an aggregator channel that has contracted with 79 regular cable channels to provide streaming through this one ROKU channel. I get to watch 'The Curse of Oak Island' on The History Channel through fuboTV. The fuboTV is $55.00 per month and OANN is only $4.99 per month. We actually cut our media bill in half by ditching the cable connection and only using the internet. Oh, our ROKUs connect through wifi.
