Next time we have an economic crisis on the scale of 2008 ^{and our “champion” plays rope-a-dope} those numbers will flip.

If Trump wins with coattails on November 3, Trump will - on his present record - build a solid base for the economy which will not court another ’08 event. And set up Pence for ’24.

Sitting VP is a better credential for getting the nomination for POTUS than it is for winning election to POTUS. The only presidents in modern history to see their sitting VPs win were Andrew Jackson and Ronald Reagan. And as of now, Trump is looking good to be in that category.

Over and above that, “Governor” is a better credential for winning than VP - and Pence was governor of Indiana. So, reason for optimism if Nov 3 goes well.
