Apparently a church was badly impacted by one patient.
Most of the new cases seem to be in the southeastern city of Daegu.
Quoting from the article:
"Vice Health and Welfare Minister Kim Kang-lip told reporters that, "At this stage, (the government) judged that COVID-19 is spreading locally with a limited scope.""
Looks like South Korea is the first country to have to deal with Phase 2 of Coronavirus. Sadly, they’ll be many more entering that phase soon.
Hang in there, people.Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
So how many in North Korea?
Two US Army bases are on quarantine ( Walker and Henry)
City of Daegu may go on lockdown soon
I am hearing from my wife, that there seems to be a temperature component to this.
Apparently since Korea is relatively cold, the virus stays contagious, for a longer time.
...Of the 51 new cases in Daegu, 23 patients are believed to be linked to a 61-year-old South Korean woman who was confirmed to be infected Tuesday, the KCDC said....

Wow...this is kind of scary.
None, Comrade...
If that were true why wouldn't that cruise ship off the coast of Japan set sail for warmer climes, in an effort to kill the virus?
Actually that is true, with the understanding that is, according to the official version.
Daegu now on informal lockdown as Mayor urges people not to leave their homes. 2.5 million people. USFK has locked down 2 bases

Just repeating what I am being told.
I don’t know for sure.
:)
In terms of medical capability, I would expect SK to be pretty good. In terms of bureaucratic competence or incompetence, I don’t know. In terms of ability to “lock down” the population (entire cities, if need be, for 2-3 weeks or more), can the South Korean gov’t manage that / will the population submit? I don’t know. Someone with real background / experience, please inform us.
