Yes I am pretty much hooped, but my family are dual citizens they have an escape valve if things really go wrong in Canada. I guess if things do go bad, I could come into the USA “on a vacation”. :)
Yet the stinking hypocrites want us to let everyone in Nicaragua to just walk into the United States.
Poles are not parasites but here is the thing, it doesn’t matter where immigrants are from, if there are too many of them, particularly in unskilled occupations the glut of workers drives wages and the availability of work down, and the cost of housing up. It also puts strain on public infrastructure because unlike the birthrate, uncontrolled immigration means you cant plan for how many school places and hospital beds will be needed in any given town or city. Immigration needs to be controlled and based on national need, not because it makes some privileged white liberal douchebag feel good to open the country to everyone in the world to live regardless of how useful or desirable they are.
Not only are Polish immigrants to the UK not ‘parasites’: one little-remarked consequence of the influx of large numbers of mostly young, mostly male Poles in the UK, practising Catholics almost to a man, has been the revitalisation of many moribund Catholic congregations, which had been reduced to the usual Western European caricature of a few elderly widows.
O Boo Hoo Gurl! Me love you long time!
British Youtuber Sargon of Akkad was reading off stats from a few studies. The semi-educated EU migrants like the Poles were a net economic benefit. The Pakistani grandmas and Muslim migrants were a net negative even in liberal studies that assumed they’d eventually be employed at the same rate and wages as native-born English.
The fiscal impact of immigration in the UK
is a good balanced analysis of the various studies of the subject. The key conclusion is that, whatever methodology is used and whatever the identity of the source, the net impact always turns out to be marginal either way - less than 1% of GDP.
Up until two generations ago my family was Cherokee. My ancestors lost their homes on rich fertile planting ground, lost land where anyone found oil, gas, gold.. Although a few years ago they may have found gas once again on Grandpa’s land, the little bit of land he still owned. Trail of Tears was nasty to the Cherokee. Thousands died walking the trail as they were kicked off their land. So I am NOT fond of immigrants of any kind from any where!
Muzzies: many of those in the UK came from Turkey or Saudi Arabia, both allies of the USA during the cold war. First world, third world etc. Are cold war terminology, and by that the sauds and Turks are or rather were from first world countries.
2. Poles. Communist Poland was a Soviet vassal, so second world.
3. Third world were non aligned countries, so included Switzerland and Sweden..
Exactly, dfwgator. Plenty of mohammedans speak English and will get in, so the Muslims will replace Christians Poles, bulgarians etc
Commonwealth countries are positively affected. There will be more immigrants from the subcontinent. Most would be Indian Hindus, Christians and Sikhs but there will be Pakistanis muslims too, hopefully the educated non radical ones
President Ford didn't seem to think so. (I still believe that one statement cost him the election, and gave us four years of Carter)
As hard working and useful as they generally are, we still need to control the numbers coming in, and who. We need to be able to filter out the criminals and also have quotas so that governments can plan what levels of infrastructure will be needed based on population estimates in 5-10-20 years time. With open borders, this is impossible because unlike birthrate or quota based immigration system, it is difficult to know how many hospitals, schools, housing etc will be needed to accomadate the future population.
Muslims are 5% in the uk, France, Germany and the Netherlands. In central Europe they are less than 1%
Most of the Muslims in Poland are Tartars who have been there for centuries, and are generally patriots.
Poles are coming back. We’ve had 4% + growth for the past couple of decades.
Many of the pakistani immigrants do not speak English, particularly the women. At least by requiring proficiency in English, some of the dross can be filtered out, and we are more likely to get the educated ones, rather than unlimited numbers of illiterate paeloislamic peasants being brought over to marry one of their cousins and perpetuate their ignorant, incestous primitivism into the country.
Young and higher skilled Poles are not, since 2017, heading to the UK. That’s because the higher end economy here is roaring. We’re importing Ukrainians and belarusians but still need more higher skilled immigrants. And the quality of life in the big cities are close to uk levels
