Bloomberg camp warns Sanders 'impossible to stop,' unless Biden, Klobuchar, Buttigieg bow out

Michael Bloomberg's Democratic presidential campaign sounded the alarm on a potential delegate sweep by Bernie Sanders unless moderate rivals bow out of the race.

An internal memo between top Bloomberg aides dated Feb. 17 warned that Sanders, a Vermont senator and self-avowed democratic socialist, is poised to leave the Super Tuesday primary contests on March 3 with a 400-delegate lead over Bloomberg that would be almost "all but impossible" to overcome. Remaining delegates would be divided among former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

"If Biden, Buttigieg and Klobuchar remain in the race despite having no path to appreciably collecting super delegates on Super Tuesday (and beyond), they will propel Sanders to a seemingly insurmountable delegate lead by siphoning votes away from [Bloomberg]," the memo said. Axios first obtained a copy of the memo.

Bloomberg's top strategist Kevin Sheekey stressed the need for the centrist Democrats to coalesce to prevent a possible Sanders victory.

"The fact is if the state of this race remains status quo - with Biden, Pete and Amy in the race on Super Tuesday - Bernie is likely to open up a delegate lead that seems nearly impossible to overcome," Sheekey told Axios.

The sentiment inside the Bloomberg camp was echoed by David Plouffe, Barack Obama's 2008 campaign manager.

Don't listen Joe, Amy or Pete! He's just trying to elbow you out of the way (if you feel a sharp pain on your kneecap it's Bloomberg elbowing you out..) so he can have only the biggest socialist to contend with. Don't let him get away with this! Stand UP and fight like the...well.. Codger, Harpy or Queen you are. Show him it's gonna take more than a midget to send you skeedaddling away. Do it! Just DO IT!!! 🍿🍿🍿!!!!

The Dems are a feaking JOKE! Bernie was screwed over by the DNC last time around, are they gonna do it again?

Then they blamed Hilly’s loss on Trump rigging the election, are they gonna do it again?

Do it losers, do it.

Hell, they paid Bernie off last time.
Little commie bastard, still he is more genuine than Bloomberg. Mini Mike could have given every man, woman and child in the USA a million bucks for what he has paid for his quest for power.

We dont want your counsel.

.
14 Super Tues states..

Buttignig surprisingly well in polls. except Tex.
Warren doing well in CA & TX.

By well I mean Viability. 15%.

Bernie will lead, but 4 other candidates will get significant delegates on 3/3

I’m sure all three of them have their price.

You know, their ACTUAL net worths are almost surely below $200m each. And only one can win the nomination, so they have to understand that their mathematical odds are around 10-20%, just like their share of the Diem Primary voters.

No matter how big my ego and my desire for posterity, an offer of $400m to simply go home and be happy for my few remaining years has got to be more than a little tempting... especially compared to only a 10-20% chance at controlling the planet... and an 80-90% chance of walking away with nothing...

And Mayor Pete has many years left, God willing, so he can use a slice of that windfall to run for Indiana Governor, and actually build his resume for a few more runs in the future.

$400m each to the 4 main opponents... $1.6bn to secure the nomination.... I think that's a bargain, compared to what he will have to spend over the next 4 months, for merely a chance at a tie in AUG.

That's what numbered Swiss accounts are there for. Mini has already bought the endorsements of several hundred black “pastors” and leaders who have usually been on sale to the highest bidder.
This guy is going to end up lifting s lot of families into the higher income brackets. And all for doing nothing really.

Mini is comfortably ahead in Florida which he will probably win. That's about it really for him for the Super Tuesday states.

These won’t hold. ComanChe is gonna keep fading. Buttplugs has had his moment, I think.

It’s Dinobernie, Biteme, and Mini-Mike.

Mike should have started earlier. I’m sure others will say why don’t you bow out Mike and make room for us? haha Bernie will win, Dem congress candidates will be forced to squirm when asked if they will support the commie nominee and we will pick up the house and expand senate! Whoo Hoo go Bernie!

Poll the other day, Bernie only one in CA over 15%, a couple others at 14%. The establishment democrat tools commenting on it were worried.

Many of the delegates are by congressional district, but if Bernie somehow is the only one to clear 15% statewide that would give him a big lead.

Note: this topic is from 02/19/2020. Thanks Oldeconomybuyer. Just a month ago, before the DNC dirty tricks got rolling in a blind panic about Sanders, Bloomberg was telling the doddering Biden to drop out.
