Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, freed from prison Tuesday, heaped "profound and everlasting gratitude" on President Donald Trump for commuting his sentence.
"President Trump is the one who did this, and I'm ... profoundly grateful," Blagojevich, who was a Democrat, told reporters Tuesday night at Denver International Airport.
"He's got obviously a big fan in me," said Blagojevich, who has gone totally gray since entering prison. "And if you’re asking me what my party affiliation is, I’m a Trump-ocrat."
"He didn't have to do this. He’s a Republican president; I was a Democratic governor," Blagojevich said. "My fellow Democrats have not been very kind to him. ... In fact, they’ve been very unkind to him."

Why did Trump pardon Blagojevich but no Flynn, Stone, and Montford?
That’s absolutely wonderful, particularly knowing Jim Brown’s history politically. With people like Brown, Jerry Rice, Kanye West and other prominent black people supporting President Trump, I have hope we might see black movement away from Dems.
Not really, just didn't have access to hair color...what ever...If Nancy and Di Fi didn't use hair color they too would appear old...and they both are, one is 80 the other 87 in June... Rod B. just turned 63 in December...
President Trump does things because they’re the right things to do. Can’t go wrong that way.

But Trump commuted the sentence. He didn’t pardon the guy.

Exactly. Like he said.. it should have been a 5yr sentence, out in 3.
And I think these actions show how much Trump is really settling into the job. He had considered commuting Blago’s sentence in the past, but was concerned about the bad press. This means he has a much better handle on how to manage the news, and he knows that he can do what he believes should be done, regardless of what the media and the pundits say. He has basically acquired “F You” power.

I know he's been working with the Trump administration on prison reform but he's come a long way since his Syracuse and NFL days.
Just once, I want to see him make it onto that truck in "The Dirty Dozen".

I agree. doing his pardons and commute of sentences now is proper. I think that the ability to pardon and commute sentences should be striped from the president one month before an election and returned only if the president wins the election. at the end of the second term the new president elect has to approve any pardon handed out by the old president leaving office. unless the president is willing to face political damage for his pardons he should not be pardoning anyone. but of course to do this means constitutional amendment.
The lefties on twitter are hemorrhaging with rage over this “Trumpocrat” word.

We need a new political party to be more reflective of who we are and what we believe.
I think going after blago was Obbama going after a political rival that could end his presidency....not saying the guy is honest just that I don’t buy the crap about him trying to get financial gain... I believe he meant to leverage the appointment as political capital to move forward with his political agenda something every politician does Left, right, conservative, libral, republican demacrat.

On Fox, they said that he had always died his hair black, but wasn’t allowed to in prison. So he does look older.
Trump should ask Blagojevich to testify against obama. He has to know what went on.
Trump can’t a fair shake even from the Democrats for this....
In the Clinton years....The pardon thing went like this.
You have like two hours before his final term in office is complete. He gets a dozen or so of these low lifes willing to donate $100,000 to $500,000 to the Clinton Foundation for the pardon.
Two hours before he leaves he grants the pardons.
In short, totally political and total favor granted for money.
One more example of 2 tiers of justice.
