What good would the surgical masks do if it can be contracted through the eyes?
Add some goggles and gloves and you’re good to go!
LOL, didn’t comprehend the article I see.

Surgical masks are NOT just for prevention of corona virus...but other diseases, as well. Especially in a surgical or hospital situation.
This guy is explaining that the MAJORITY of our protective medical gear is MADE IN CHINA. (As is 80% of our presription medicines.)
He is the only MADE IN THE USA mask manufacturer...but, only three hospital chains purchase from his company, one of which is MD Anderson, in Houston, TX.

I strongly recommend that you dont order (wait listed) any N95 medical grade masks. Leave the limited trickle of supply to those families who understand their value. And thanks, in advance, for your sacrifice. ;-)

When will these idiots understand that the only way to combat a virus, especially one of this nature, is with a self contain breathing apparratus, or SCBA, like is used in many hazmet suits. Sealed oxygen.
Everyone has gone nuts over the n95 paper mask. If a person with the virus coughs or sneezes directly on to the mask, it will do nothing to stop it. The N95 is designed to stop particles, not something as small as a virus. It’s just a matter of either keeping the illness out of the country as much as they can, or hiding from people if it is in your area. You get fluid contact, you can get it.

That’s why they recommend you avoid eye contact.
(Thank you very much!)
What good will goggles do if you can catch it thru your mouth and nose?
COVID-19 is believed to be spread the very same way common colds and influenza are - mainly spread when infected people cough or sneeze, releasing small virus-containing droplets into the air which can be breathed in and infect the respiratory tract of the people around them and also by touching a surface or object that has virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes (think mucus membranes). So if you touch a surface that has enough of the virus on it and then you wipe or rub your eyes, you can contract it that way but the same goes for colds and flues.
Masks are more to prevent an infected person from spreading the virus through coughs and sneezes from infecting others. They may also provide some protection from breathing it in and can help people to be mindful of not touching their face.
Might help keep some from spreading it to other folks’ eyes via sneezes...
The best thing it does is remind you to not your face.
