TPM ^

Posted on 02/18/2020 8:30:44 AM PST by navysealdad

A federal judge appeared unwilling to delay a sentencing hearing scheduled for Roger Stone later this week, amid an effort by Stone to secure a retrial in his case. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Tuesday at a teleconference hearing that it would not be “prudent” to further delay the sentencing hearing, but said she’d delay the execution of the sentence until after the retrial request was resolved.

Why is “judge” Amy so quick to sentence????

To demonstrate that the Judiciary is not subject to the whims of the Executive?

Judge Amy is seriously wanting to become famous by instigating the creation of a law named after her that drags corrupt and incompetent judges off the bench and puts them in prison where they belong.

Why is “judge” Amy so quick to sentence?

If I were a partisan, Obama appointed judge, I'd give Stone 25 years, ignoring the original and dialed-back DOJ recommendation. Not because its "fair," not even to show judicial independence, but to dare and force Trump to commute or pardon. Then the Dems could make a fuss over it.

Let's see what Amy does.

President Trump should trump the sentence with an immediate probation order.
It was a sentencing fight that didn’t need to be picked.

If the jury foreman lied on her questionnaire, it would explain why the motion was sealed, as the answers on there are supposed to be sealed.

This looks like a strong appeal, too bad it will come to this.

Berman knows she will never be sanctioned by the corrupt DOJ nor impeached, and that the media and leftist judges have her back. So why not push ahead, and force Trump to pardon Stone as well, a political win for “her side”?

I believe that at this stage, the Judge is busy covering her tracks. She certainly knew that she had a rogue juror who was as biased as was the judge, and that the defense counsel had requested that this juror not be seated. This case will be appealed and will likely show misconduct by the juror and perhaps by the judge as well.

I would think that at this point it would be better to go ahead with the sentencing so as to get it before an appeals court.

It can not be appealed until he is sentenced and the evil witch is no longer in control.

Meh. Trump can just do a Dinesh D’souza on him after the election, whether he wins or not.

I assume Stone is counting on it.

This well known Obama hack judge is going to give Stone the max so as to force President Trump to pardon him so they can then run another slander campaign against the President.

I think tbat she will impose a light sentence in order to accommodate and defuse public criticism and nudge the government toward no retrial after she voids the conviction.

“This looks like a strong appeal,...”

The understatement of the year.....There is no way this thing survives an appeal.
