In fiscal year 2019, which ran from October 2018 to September 2019, Border Patrol agents detained 851,508 immigrants who illegally entered the U.S. via Mexico. Of those, more than half, 473,682, arrived with family members, Customs and Border Protection data showed.
According to the Washington Examiner, more than 375,000 immigrants who were detained as part of family units were later released directly into the U.S, including 145,000 who were released directly from Border Patrol stations between March and September.

WTH?
We have reduced the influx.
We won’t be winning until outflow exceeds influx for as long as it takes to deport 30+ million illegal aliens.
This is a reduced influx? 30 Million maybe 10 years ago, I wouldn’t be surprised if its over 60 at this point.
They’re everywhere. Not happy.
They were turning a million a year loose into the country.
So an explanation is in order. Is the CPB working for us or against us? Does the swamp extend to them too? what say you Mr President?????
At this point, I think voting for Trump will be a protest vote. I will vote, but I don’t expect it will do anything, and it will probably be the last time I ever do. Government has long been an illegal occupying force, now it is actively working to destroy and replace us.
DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS
This was prior to the Remain In Mexico program and prior to the court decisions allowing it.
Go look at the release numbers for FY2018 and compare.
Thanks
-And if they think they have someone in waiting who will do a better job, point him out please...
Why?
at least 50K are still in South SoCal if a drive through neighborhoods is any indication - and they’re not of the former amiable, laylow and getalong, type.
They are from the “FY 2019 ICE Enforcement and Removal Report.”
See pages 3-4.
https://www.ice.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Document/2019/eroReportFY2019.pdf
The most important numbers are not mentioned in the posted article - “non-detained cases”
Those are people who have an “active removal” case, but they are not in ICE custody.
Here are Trump's “non-detained case” numbers:
FY 2017 - 2.4 million
FY 2018 - 2.6 million
FY 2019 - 3.2 million
ICE has approximately 55,000 detention beds. Those detention facilities were pretty close to 100% occupancy every night in FY 2019.
Bottom Line - any claim that Trump has ended “Catch and Release” is pure political propaganda.
Ann Coulter, is that you? :)
I have been Free Republic's resident immigration hawk since Bush tried to shove Amnesty down our throats in 2005.
I think Coulter climbed on that train about the same time I did.
LOL - Maybe “grocery store golf cart” is a better description than train?
In any event, Trump's only quantifiable achievement on the immigration issue has been to reduce UN Refugee immigration from 80,000 per year to about 20,000, which is still the second highest acceptance rate in the entire world.
Beyond that, almost all of Trump's macro immigration numbers look exactly like Obama’s numbers - or worse.
I voted for Trump in 2016 because he was the most Conservative candidate who had a chance to get elected President.
I will vote to reelect him in 2020 for the same reason.
