If he wasn’t so certain of his autocratic brilliance, he would have been a good republican.

You get it. A lot on FR miss it. Bloomie’s money is beyond political imagination. His ads are everywhere. Even on METV and H&I where most ads are for final expense insurance and catheters. His radio ads are all over WFAN, the most popular drive time station in NY. He is going to spend what would be half of Trump’s total worth and Bloomie won’t even notice it.

It appears his original thought was spot on, too bad he’s into virtue signalling these days.

Thank you. And Bloomberg’s ads haven’t even hit where I am yet. I’m not looking forward to the two-week run up to my state’s primary. But I don’t really watch that much TV. I’m a little bit curious as to how many ads he will run on the local conservative radio stations.

Why on earth would any sane person want to teach in a NYC school under a moron superintendent like Carranza is beyond me.

That’s probably about right. 2/3 admin goes, and 1/3 staff.

There is no doubt that some of the direct staff is useless.

The administration is 1) overpaid and 2) too numerous.

the first order of business should be “what value add to the instruction of the children do you directly perform” if the answer is none, then they should be shown the door. You have to have some supervision of the staff.

The next thing is the curriculum. Ditch whole language and sight words. Teach phonics. Restore basic mathematics and forget all of the “alternative” strategies. Teach them “this is how this is done”. Same for science, and teach them America first history.

Followed by the expurgation of the troublemakers and hoodlums.

If he were to stick with his past wisdom and join the NRA, he’d make a great Republican candidate.

Well, he’s not wrong.

No, there is probably 50% dead weight in the NYC public school system.

Also, stop and frisk is one reason NYC is pretty safe today. It pains me to see Republicans criticize stop and frisk.

Except that he won’t own up to the statements that he made, he will apologize and emasculate himself. Just watch.

Some specialize in special ed. Salary is higher. Pension is higher. One friend had an MA in biology but couldn’t make enough money in a lab without a PhD, so she went back to school and became a special ed teacher. Another friend was Tier 1 and retired decades ago getting $80,000 a year pension.

Union is very strong. I only know one teacher who lost her job.

If I had my way, I’d dump half the teachers, too. And replace them with conservatives.

Stop and frisk is a violation of the Fourth Amendment; you accept it because YOU aren’t being stopped and frisked. In other states they wouldn’t even try it; it is blatantly illegal.
