California has been a completely Democrat-run state for so long that most people have forgotten that California was once a state much like any other. When people in other states think of it, they simply dismiss it as “Crazy California.”
With the recent election in Virginia returning a Democrat-majority legislature in a state with a Democrat governor, Virginia is heading down the same path as California, although that's not immediately obvious. While the national press has covered the government’s attacks on the Second Amendment and its attempted end-run around the Electoral College, there are a host of other planned or passed initiatives that are fundamentally changing a state that, because of James Madison, was the birthplace of the Constitution.
To date, the House has passed the following bills, which now await Senate votes:

* Taxes would go up. The bill would give counties the same authority cities have to impose taxes on cigarettes, admissions, “transient occupancy rentals,” meals, and travel campgrounds, without any referendum process or cap on increases. (House Bill 785.)
* Driving would become more expensive, with gas taxes increasing annually ad infinitum. (House Bill 1414.) Marijuana possession would be decriminalized. (House Bill 972.)
* The state would add up to five new casinos. (House Bill 4.)

Eliminate a large percentage of federal jobs.

This one really ticks me off. If they can do this then someone should sue to just end out-of-state tuition. Illegal immigrants get in-state fees while legal American citizens have to pay more?! It's effing outrageous! But then again, all the measures are.
Increase taxes across the board and open casinos! Alright. Of course I’m sure they will earmark all the casino income for education right? Right?!

The Rats, unlike us, don’t waste any time ramming through their agenda once they get power. No reaching across the aisle to their “friends” for them.
It’s amazing red Virginia lasted as long as it did with that huge sociopath magnet next to it drawing sociopaths from all over the US to settle and vote in NVA. With the growth of the fed state and its gigantic private support structure in the last 40 years or so it’s a wonder this didn’t happen long before. Folks should consider how their own state would do treading water with that ever-growing boat anchor attached to their state for decade upon decade.

Virginia has a real education coming now.
And which Democrat-running/ruining is seen in cities and towns across America. Why? Largely become liberals lust after power, presuming they are the elite (which the university culture fosters) who should have the preeminence, as the devil did and does. And like as he did and does, they seek to inculcate and employ the victim-entitlement mentality, presenting themselves as the savior of those who have a right to what is supposed to be merited, if not bestowed as grace.
In contrast, conservatives tend to mainly focus on work and family (and sports), not seeking letters after their names or being the chief, and thus tend to be less formally educated but supportive of traditional values.
Lousy roads (thank you VDOT) and chicken$hit traffic enforcement have long been additional Virginia negatives. Conservatives would do well to stay away (although I wish enough would move here to outvote the liberals; something that isn’t likely). I’ll be on my way out sooner or later.
