Thornberry has a lower profile than Big Foot, until curiously, now, when Money is involved, for Defense, but bypassed his imprimatur. Hmmm.

Sounds exaxtly like no name squealing

He’s an old GOPe guy and he’s getting out of the way before the Trumptrain runs over him. Texas has several Bush cronies retiring.

I interpret his comments as the Congress needs to do its damn constitutional job and fund the border wall explicitly.

This is the best summation I have read of GW Bush in a long time. He ran for president pretending to be a conservative, but conservatives don’t start mindless, endless wars for which no thought has been given to how to govern the place once it has been conquered. Conservatives don’t appoint Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court. Conservatives don’t drive drunk at 30 and then blame “youthful” indiscretion for it. Conservatives don’t ignore the immigration laws passed by Congress and signed into law by their predecessors. Conservatives elected president don’t have a dingbat spouse who undermines the social issues of the base of the party. Conservatives don’t undermine their party’s presidential candidate in favor of Hillary Clinton and the wild, rabid leftists she would have put in power. A two-faced, ignorant dolt like GW Bush and his father would, and that’s exactly what they did.

I wonder what money FDR used to build Japanese detention camps?

Don Jr spoke at the rally in New Hampshire last Monday. As he spoke there were chants of “Forty Six...Forty Six”.At first I was confused but then I realized...

He primaried himself - another RINO coming overtly out of the closet after deciding not to run again....at least as a Republican....and he already has legal history against his assertions...

I guess the Boeing’s and General Dynamics of the world are unleashing their Lobbyist on this POS water carrier. TornLoser is getting a little reminder who butters his bread.

Much of it slated for the Fort Worth area. His district? His new employer?

“He probably has no qualms about spending $3 billion to defend Iraq and Aghanistan borders.”

Well, no...that feed$ the military-industrial complex.

A border wall only feed$ some construction contractors.

He’s from Amarillo, hundreds of miles from the border. I moved to south Texas from Amarillo. If he doesn’t want to build the wall he should move to Brownsville. Hope he speaks Spanish, because you won’t find any English speakers in a large part of the city. I went to a lot of stores for a Brownsville project asking for directions to a church, but no habla englis anywhere. Found it by luck. Nobody at the church spoke English.
I carry the license only because I have commercial and industrial clients that need help complying with the regulation.
At another job at a power plant in Harlingen, I went to lunch with the Mexican American crew (all American citizens). We all ordered lunch, they got theirs and ate it. Mine didn’t come until they had finished theirs. They said that was because I was white. I said it was probably a mistake. Next day, same restaurant, same results. I figured it wasn’t safe to eat the food and left.

A few articles. He’s a deep military-industrial complex player. Lotsa PAC money from the defense companies.

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/defense-industry-money-congress-120134

https://www.texasobserver.org/mac-thornberry-defense-industry-2020-texodus-gop-trump/

After retirement: “He hopes it will be something related to national security. “But other than that, I have no clue; I have no plans,” Thornberry said.”” So, he’ll take the best offer as a consultant with a Big Defense company.

https://www.timesrecordnews.com/story/news/2019/10/01/texas-congressman-mac-thornberry-talks-retirement-impeachment-future/3832303002/

Like I said — the wall gives gov defense money to civilian construction companies, not defense companies. A major pisser for these deep defense guys.

Yeah, to be honest I’ve been lucky out here in Los Angeles.

There are ruthless thugs, but I get along great with most every Latino out here.

My second wife’s family and I got along great.

Thornberry is a big defense contractor guy. He is also my soon retiring congressman. He had nothing to do with the rank and file Republicans in his congressional district. Lots of monied donors but nothing for the counties Party working to fund political action and activities

A big player for Bell Helicopter, etc. His reward for all that got him re-elected and no real competition for primary. Like John Cornyn, you could count on Thornberry for a Christmas card and a peep to the people at election time, but go down-under and burrow back into the DC theater for another four.

Thornberry has a lower profile than Big Foot, until curiously, now, when Money is involved, for Defense, but bypassed his imprimatur. Hmmm.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

how old a guy is thornberry?

what’s his future? lobbiest? CNN commentator?

or.....getting outta town before the pictures come out???
