After a series of Project Veritas investigations conducted across the state of New Hampshire yesterday, Project Veritas journalists uncovered an election official, Beth Hunter, at the polling location for Ward 01 and Ward 04 in Derry, NH opening up about her political inclinations and illegally influencing voters on Election Day. According to the state’s law, election officials are prohibited from influencing a citizen’s vote in favor of a candidate or political party. After a state-wide effort in New Hampshire by the Project Veritas team to expose electoral corruption, these exclusive undercover recordings show Beth admonishing Donald Trump’s decision to award Rush Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom while also telling undercover journalists that ‘voting for any Democrat is wise.’ Upon being confronted for making these statements, Beth admits she shouldn’t have talked about Limbaugh while performing her role as an election official but claimed she was unaware about breaking or even knowing the New Hampshire law against electioneering.

Well I don’t know the context of this, but as a poll working in a small district, I can tell you, there is a LOT of dead time during the day, where we (the poll workers) talk amongst ourselves when we are the only people in the building... We are all friends, know each other, and since we are all there for the election, politics does occasionally get discussed.. however we always stop any conversations on that topic once someone enters the polling place, and never ever suggest to anyone HOW they should or should not vote.
If this woman was in any way trying to influence or suggest to a voter who they should vote for, she’s violating election law, as far as I know in all 50 states. If however they were having a private conversation amongst themselves, and got caught by someone trying to eavesdrop, who they were unaware was there, that’s a different story.
However as to this being a “scandal”, that’s a bit of a stretch, most poll workers are simply volunteers just trying their best to do their job, and are not actively trying to sway folks. I am sure you can find some who are unaware they must not say things when working, but portraying this as a major scandal is a bit of a stretch.
It’s only ‘wise’ if you’re a steaming hot pile.

I agree. I have worked as an election judge numerous times. Always get training, by law, and, regardless of what the temp service we work though says, I am always carrying.
I’m not sure how saying to a supposed democrat showing up for a democratic primary that “voting for any democrat is wise” is really “electioneering”. Or saying bad things about Trump, for that matter.
I thought NH was an open primary?
