Ugh.

Your post caused me to look up Potempkin Village. I really did not know exactly what it meant.

I read, "..... Prince Potëmkin, who allegedly had villages of cardboard constructed for Catherine II's visit to the Ukraine and the Crimea in 1787."

--- I 'll bet the good Prince was praying for NO RAIN on those cardboard villages when Catherine II visited!

(When I want to get rid of a lot of cardboard boxes, etc. I squirt 'em with a hose, they get all soft and are easy to get rid of.)
