40+ years of education in a system infested with liberals is a big part of the problem. And also the destruction of the black family where education is not valued and even ridiculed is to blame.
He’s right. Ill educated parents are less equipped to know about their children’s performance. School choice would help minimize that.
Blacks have become part of the general population in many ways.
I was reading a recent BLS consumer spending report today. Households in the 9th decile, with incomes from $116K to $167K were 10% black. Even the 10th decile, with incomes over $167K, are 6% black. That’s a little over 2 million black households in the top 20% in income.
I suspect that this group is at least somewhat educated, and their numbers are no longer that small.
Part of this problem goes back to marginalized schools in highly urbanized areas. You get poor teachers with limited skills, and zero motivation....the 18-year old kid graduates high school with a 4th-grade reading ability, and McDonalds is the only avenue.
But you can go to rural areas where higher quality teachers exist, and a black kid will graduate typically at the same level as his non-black associates in the school.
I’ll even go and suggest that some colleges have lessen themselves in various ways....accepting the marginal students, and giving them a four-year degree while the performance level is that of a 8th-grade kid instead of a fourth-year college student that you’d expect.
Hasn't even campaigned for him at a rally, or even talked to him or about him?
This is very puzzling, because Biden is actually a ruthless, cutthroat politician. He served under Obama for 8 years, endlessly mentions him, and Obama still hasn't spoke about him?
This is arguably the biggest crash and burn of an incumbent in modern American political history.
THE PROBLEM IS CURSIVES! ;-)
Yes...........buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut you are running in the wrong primary to say such things.
Wow! The DNC really wants him gone! Why don’t they just send Joe a messenger, and tell him, “Sorry, it isn’t your year...”
“The snowflakes in the black community need to grow up and accept responsibility for once.”
They were put there by the Democrat policies.
Like getting mad at a cat for never being trained to use the litterbox.
Please stop taking my thoughts and making such spot-on, brilliant posts.
Parents? You mean parent.
Which campaign is Newsweek rooting for?
KIND OF LIKE Ben Carsons Mom, seems it didn;t deter her so much. It is FAMILY and community that they need.
Truth hurts. Joe is right about this one.
The problem with blacks in schools or anywhere.. most have no father figure to look up to and learn from..and mothers who cannot control them when they are 3... and after years of no consistency and no rules and no absolutes.. they are out of control as teenagers.
It’s not easy being a parent and it’s not easy to set the rules and make sure they are obeyed... but it has to be done if there is any control at all.
Can you imagine being a young person eyeing a political or public life? You would never be able have a real conversation with anyone.
Voting dem time after time will do that.
This is just another example of Democrats creating a problem and then blaming it on everyone else.
The damage to minority communities caused by the Democratic party and its allies in the teachers unions is huge.
Some blacks come close to that. I was a manager of an I.T. networking group. One of my black guys was a rough black guy that was an extremely poor writer, and also had some reading difficulties. But he was extremely intelligent and had great troubleshooting skills with modems, muxes, control units, wiring etc. I came to rely on him more than the others for getting work done. He lived in the ghetto, and never wanted me to visit him there, too dangerous. Upper management wanted me to fire him because of his roughness (mannerisms, tough talk, etc.) but they had a dislike of blacks so I ignored them. I knew other blacks from ghetto upbringings who also had writing problems, and other blacks from middle class upbringings that were well educated - completely different people.
