So far, Mitch has respected the Blue Slip policy for District Judge appointments. If these California Judges are acceptable to Feinstein and Harris...
.......................................................................
No, they’re not.
See my post #10.
Methinks Leader McConnell may be letting Granny Wine Box and her Senate Boxettes who REALLY is boss.
************************************************************
Actually, the blue slip process doesnt come into play until AFTER the Senate Judiciary Committee receives the nominations from the President. The MERE THREAT of the blue slip process being used can be enough to cause the President to have to negotiate with the particular RAT Senators on acceptable nominees. Sadly, this can be something like do these 5 of mine and you can do 5 of yours. If Graham eliminated the blue slip process being allowed to be a VETO, the President could nominate ALL good constitutionalists for District Court Judgeships.
If either Feinstein or Harris approved of any of these nominees, the senste had better be Very Very Very super careful !!!!
I thought Mitch canned the “blue slip” process.
Good point. I think he has ?
Don’t forget Breyer..
And Clarence Thomas would prob like to spend more time in his RV.
And Diabetes Type II can be a bitch.
Reminds me of a mortician friend of mine. Once, when I asked him, "How's business?" he replied, "Pretty good. Three funerals last week and two pending."
The eternal optimist... oh wait!
“McConnell to End Senates Blue Slip Tradition
The elimination of the longtime practice, by which senators could veto a judicial nominee from their home state, is seen as a way to fast-track conservative picks for federal judgeships.”
No more blue slips.
Some of the others have had health issues also.
That’s what I thought!
He only eliminated blue slips for Circuit Courts. He has continued to honor blue slips for District Judges.
If he Changes his policy for District Courts, it will be news, and the Dems will scream bloody murder.
From your fingers to Ruth’s ears.
That is excellent news, all 5 are California nominees.
See kiryandil’s comment above. Five of the California nominees are members of the Federalist society so at least 5 are likely to be excellent picks.
Oh my. ( wonder why he did that? ). Thanks
I suggest FReepers interested in the blue slip process check this article on Wikipedia:

It’s not as cut and dried as you might think.
IMHO, blue slips have out lived their usefulness.
Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I hear ya...
