The Senate on Thursday voted to pass a resolution limiting President Trump’s power to order military strikes against Iran without the approval of Congress.

The bipartisan 55 to 45 vote — in which eight Republicans joined all Democrats in approving the resolution — was seen as a rebuke of Trump’s opposition to consulting Congress when making foreign policy decisions.

But the measure is largely symbolic as it has been slammed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump, and so is not likely to garner enough Republican support to override an expected presidential veto. That would require a two-thirds majority.

Trump is looking in his right hand drawer now to make sure that his VETO pen is ready and all inked up.

I’m guessing my pacifist Senator Rand Paul is one of the five.

One of the great lessons of the Age of Trump is never support a U. S. Senator for POTUS. Never, ever.

Little Marco is full of it. Under similar circumstances he voted to “rebuke” POTUS on the border.

Special rules for Trump only - because they don’t like him - is the problem.

I have no doubt once leave the White House the GOP will suddenly take umbraege at Mueller’s tactics realizing they can also be used on the GOPe. But as long as Trump and his supporters are the victim they couldn’t care less.

Correct me if I’m wrong but a resolution has no force of law.

The presence of the Abortion Twins doesn’t surprise me. However, the absence of a no vote from Romney does — not that it’s an unpleasant one.

The usual RINOs. Jerry Moron is bad for Kansas. He has to be watched, and reprimanded because he doesn’t represent us too well.

Trump as commander in chief will do exactly what be believes needs to be done when he believes it needs to be done. There’s a good story about Teddy Roosevelt using his executive power to send the US Navy across the Pacific to seize the Philippines. Congress objected to it, but Teddy did it any way and told them that they’d have to fund the Navy if they wanted it back home. Congress paid.
