Moore was an idiot for promising to vote against Mitch McConnell for Senate majority leader. He immediately made enemies among every Republican in the Senate — because nobody had any interest in challenging McConnell for that leadership post.
By the way ... Mo Brooks made the same promise in 2017, and I’m sure that’s a big reason why he didn’t even bother running this time around.

McConnell was, for a long time, a very unpopular figure with the base. That was not an unpopular position to take. But responding to this by backing the Demonrat nutjob who voted for the coup was insane.
I wish Mo Brooks had run this time.
