Vice-president says US is profoundly disappointed with Chinese firms 5G involvement
Pence told the US broadcaster CNBC: The United States is very disappointed that the United Kingdom has decided to go forward with Huawei.
We are profoundly disappointed When I went at the presidents direction in September I met with Prime Minister Johnson and I told him the moment the UK was out of Brexit we were willing to begin to negotiate a free trade arrangement with the UK.
Asked whether the decision could prove a deal-breaker, he replied: Well see.
....The UK has said it will allow Huawei to be involved in building peripheral parts of the 5G and full-fibre network, despite labelling it a high-risk vendor.
It will also introduce a new regulatory framework aimed at ensuring the Chinese firms share of the 5G market cannot exceed 35% and can be reduced over time.

nah, this is standard ally stuff — if you want a trade deal, you must keep the standards the same.
The problem with Huawei is so serious that we should not trade with countries that put Huawei 5G tech in their networks.
I know what I’m talking about here...
For data to be secure Huawei must cease to exist.
Seems to me the UK calculated that Trump wants a trade deal at all costs and will ignore them getting in bed with the Chicoms to get it.
Adm Mike Rogers is advising Trump, I’m pretty sure Trump will choose wisely to put maximum pressure to make sure Huawei has a hard time.
Terrible.
By terrible I mean the Brits. What are they thinking?!
We’ve let INSTEX go.
This is a bridge too far.
