MANCHESTER, NH - Olympians know bronze feels better than silver. Now, Sen. Amy Klobuchar does too.
Finishing third in New Hampshire's Democratic presidential primary Tuesday meant breathing a burst of life into her campaign and holding her most reviled rival, Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, to a second-place showing.
Her home-stretch surge, fueled by a stellar debate performance Friday, appeared to be the key factor that robbed Buttigieg of the votes he needed to top Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. The surprise star turn combined with the fading of former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., to catapult Klobuchar into the conversation about which bridge-the-divide candidate is best equipped to survive a long-slog campaign.
"The two of them are very likely to end up duking it out for the alternative spot between Bernie Sanders and Mike Bloomberg," Democratic strategist Adrienne Elrod said in reference to the billionaire former New York City mayor, who is currently sitting in third place in the RealClearPolitics average of national polls.
For now, the pair are the two hottest candidates in the ideological space between Sanders, the leader in national polling, and Bloomberg, who is fast becoming a point of fascination for establishment Democrats.
The Iowa caucuses produced no true winner after a technological fiasco, and Sanders and Buttigieg actually won the same number of delegates to the Democratic National Convention from New Hampshire. Perhaps someone will win the Feb. 22 Nevada caucuses outright.
But for now, in the Democrats' version of a participation-trophy primary, Klobuchar's third-place finish amounted to a clear victory.

“...a scrambled field...”
More like a steaming pile of VOMIT!
Crazy Bernie, Bootgeedge and St Amy
Someone has to protect FR from that sort of trauma!
Klobuchar gives me the creeps, just like her lookalike, Eric Swalwell.
I wonder how she will fare now that there will be a bit of vetting.
Oh, and that picture of the smoochers really, really gives me the creeps.
What happened to my country??
Klobitchar probably has a lock on VP. “Hi my name is Amy and I’m your empty-headed unaccomplished token vagina-possessing minority for this election cycle”. (Now bring me a comb, dammit, so I can eat!)
What, no tongue?

She has NEVER been challenged. When runs for office here in Minnesota she is a completely sweet innocent lovable saint.
She will never be on any ticket. She would melt in a second if somebody hit her with some tough questions. She has always been protected.
Do you have any idea how close that moniker is? I just got the book Profiles in Corruption by Peter Schweitzer which devotes a whole chapter to her political rise.
Despite her "Minnesota Nice Cookie Baking Mom" persona, she has the worst staff turnover in the entire U.S. Senate because she treats them like dirt.
So what does she do now, circle the wagons or go on the warpath? Does she follow Sanders off the reservation? And does he count as her coup if he catches an arrow from the DNC at their big Pow Pow in Milwaukee?
By the way, while the name "Milwaukee" comes from an Algonquian word millioke, meaning "good", "beautiful" and "pleasant land", it has a less pleasant connotation in the Menominee language, where it is called Māēnāēwah, "some misfortune happens".
Yahtahey, my FRiends.
Flavor of the day. The press's selected object of the hour to keep the public distracted from what is really going on.
Amy is tripping on peyote if she thinks she’s on the ticket.
Good, so when the Dems lose the House and Trump is re-elected they can claim victory.
Klobuchar looks like a pretty credible D candidate ( at least shes rational!) at first blush. And I think the Ds will be smart to really consider her. But, theyre hell bent on a commie or Nazi style crazed lunatic loser instead
Kloaca.
She’s not a moderate.
Shes not a moderate but shes rational and can work with people. Im not saying shes my candidate. Only saying that of the current crop of D candidates she looks like maybe the best. I plan to vote for pdjt. I think hes been doing a pretty good job especially given the DNC venom and obstructionism.
Hey Dems. Run this against Trump! No tongues.
Was she the one Democrat that didn’t come off as a rabid dog during the Kavanaugh tribunal? That’s quite a low bar for “moderate”.
