Cocaine Mitch Vows to 'Leave No Vacancy Behind' in the Courts in 2020

While most of us are focused on the presidential election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is focused on filling judicial vacancies.

McConnell appeared on Hugh Hewitt's radio show on Tuesday, and the first thing they discussed was judicial vacancies. "I’ve got the classic question: What have you done for me lately?" Hewitt asked, before answering himself. "You’ve actually saved the Constitution with 50 Appeals Court judges, two Supreme Court justices, 133 district court judges."

Both acknowledged that despite the impressive record of getting judges confirmed, there's still a lot of work to be done.

"I know that there are a lot of vacancies. They need to be filled," McConnell said. "But the good news is we’ve changed the 9th Circuit in a dramatic way, as you know, and it’s no longer, you know, the far-left court that it used to be."

McConnell added, "My motto for the year is 'leave no vacancy behind.' That includes district courts as well. And so we’re a long way from being finished with doing court confirmations this year."

There are about 25 pending district court nominees.

I’m confused by your response. It sounds like you think that the Senate was CORRECT in allowing the phony impeachment articles to proceed to a trial. If this is your position, then I respectfully disagree. If not, please accept my apologies.

I’m not “going after” Mitch. I just said I was not that enamored with him because I think he screwed up by allowing a trial. I do believe he could have stopped it, but I may be mistaken.

Lastly, I think that your calling my comment “BS” was uncalled-for.

I hope Mitch means it and delivers. I also hope that President Trump has names in the pipeline for any vacancies that do not yet have a formal nominee. Filling these vacancies reduces the political significance of the next presidential election to voters on the left and may actually help us to win by a larger margin (and take more House/Senate seats).

I expect her to step down immediately after the election in November.

I'd much rather see her die today. (Psalm 109)

I'd love to see President Trump get to appoint another supreme court justice this year. Then we can continue praying for the other three liberals to retire or die next year. (Again Psalm 109. If it was good enough for David, a man after God's own heart, then it is good enough for me!)

No, we don't wish death on anyone except George Soros and probably not even him. God works his miracles and challenges us in ways we don't understand and sometimes that means working around a wicked person like Soros without becoming wicked ourselves.

And Ruth Bader Ginsburg? She's an honorable person with a different political take ... she's not the enemy. Don't be the stereotype of what liberals want us to be... remember they play the victim card by faking hate crimes. And hiring trolls.

My opinion of McConnell has done a 180 from two years ago.

The man is a rock star.

I didn’t vote for him the last time he ran and I supported Bevin in the primary. I left that slot open in the general election. He is really not liked in KY but the Democrats are hell bent on nominating east/west coast leftist drones and can’t win the seat. The Kentucky legislature is full of Democrat go old boys who would probably beat McConnell easily.

As I said he is really not liked in the state. I met him once in Lexington, I wasn’t impressed and his willingness to give Obama anything he wanted royally pissed me off. Will fight that battle insert lie... All that being said if he continues filling the courts he may just win my vote back this fall.

Mitch is a senator. In a legislature you have to make some concessions, and be polite toward other legislators who are scrum.

Overall Mitch has shown self control and maturity as leader. He was steadfast in not letting the dems create havoc during impeachment.

This includes the term, “Turtle”.

In all fairness, he does resemble a turtle.

If someone has to die it might just as well be Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Ginsberg won’t go willingly but Man proposes God disposes.
Wishing her a long & happy retirement.

America will be better off with someone who disdains our Constitution, believes the age of consent should be 12, and that foreign legal decisions should be a model for American courts, out to pasture.

You are a better man than I, Gunga Din.
I wish Ruth a long & happy retirement. I would not wish death on anyone. But I’m a long way from calling her honorable even if it would be gracious to do so.

She has disparaged our Nation abroad, insulted the President, stands for abortion on demand, her statements on equality make it clear she disenfranchises men. She is believes that liberal etiology trumps religious freedom and that mothers should have the final say about killing people who happen to be their children. The rights of the child mean nothing to her before or at the time of birth and she believes that the age of consent should be at 12 years old so a 12 year old who was raped would need to prove it was not consensual. IOW a perfect icon for the left to worship.

Always provided that the Senate doesn’t try some more Trump impeachments.

Senate rules can be changed in the middle of a Congress; I point out that that was done to create the very “Reid Rule” which has made Mitch’s work so very effective.

IMHO Mitch should institute the “Pelosi Rule” which would guarantee that frivolous impeachments aren’t taken up by the Senate. Quite simply, it should require cloture to allow the Senate to take up an impeachment. If you can’t get 60 votes before the trial, what makes you think you’ll get 67 votes after a trial?

No, we don't wish death on anyone except George Soros and probably not even him. God works his miracles and challenges us in ways we don't understand and sometimes that means working around a wicked person like Soros without becoming wicked ourselves.

I do not "wish" death on anyone. I "PRAY" for their deaths the same way that David (a man after God's own heart) prayed for the death and ruin of God's enemies. This is an important distinction.

And Ruth Bader Ginsburg? She's an honorable person with a different political take ... she's not the enemy

Honorable? She has betrayed these United States via almost every action she has ever taken. She is an enemy of our Constitution and of our founders way of life (a way of life that we still reap the benefits of!). She promotes and enables the murder of babies. She promotes and enables homosexual perversion. As far as I can tell, she stands against everything God stands for in His word. She may not be the 'enemy' but she is certainly one of his best servants.

In better days she would have been tarred and feathered, ran out of town on a rail and shunned from polite company forever more.

I do pray for her conversion and retirement (because even if she were to confess Jesus she couldn't be trusted in that position. All those years of lying are hard to overcome and we wouldn't want her to be tempted to backslide) but I also pray that God will remove her from the bench whether she gets saved or not. If she chooses to not get saved and retire and He has to kill her to remove her, well that route was good enough for David to pray for.

Likewise I pray for the other liberals on the bench. Psalm 109
