The interesting thing to see will be the enthusiasm level for each of the candidates. I don’t think that any of them are positioning themselves like Bill Clinton did. He owned the black vote, and that enabled him to win a plurality in two three-way contests. Most other Dem candidates received it by default, as the GOP wrote it off and spent resources elsewhere.
Mr. Trump seens to smell an opportunity to peal off a 15-20% slice of the black vote. His State of the Union speech showed that. If none of these Democrat candidates motivate voters, his task becomes much easier.
Bill got the women’s vote. The black vote always belonged to the Dems.
