It was announced yesterday that Vindman was on the list of Army War College (AWC) students to begin this fall. It takes a while to qualify and to be selected for the AWC and the selections were probably made last fall. Thus his selection is not necessarily a ‘reward’ for him, as some in other threads have stated/implied. It will be interesting to see if he actually is in the Army when classes start this fall.
No, the board was conducted Feb 2-Feb 7 here at Ft Knox, right in the middle of impeachment. Vindmann obviously has some flag officer supporters for the board (a bunch of colonels) to place him on the list.
It'd be nice if they gave his spot to a more deserving student. Heck, it'd be nice if he gave up his spot.
