This is extremely hopeful news for Germany. The country’s only chance is a CDU/CSU/AfD coalition. What happened in Thuringia was the very first time that anyone in CDU had been willing to acknowledge this publicly.

There is a mathemtical ‘number’ now...that will accurately predict a no-coalition government situation, and both at the state-level (in Germany), and at the national level....it’s getting closer to that point.

If you write the logical ‘code’...the CDU can’t ever partner with the far left party, or the AfD, then you add the weakened left-of-center party (SPD), and add the general refusal of around 50-percent of voters to vote left, then you have a non-sustainable and very collapsible government.

Go look at German national voting habits for past thirty years (since the Wall came down). Virtually in every single election...the CDU (right-of-center) and the SPD (left-of-center) get slightly less total votes. They used to combine in the 1970s/1980s to have 80-percent or more. Last election (2017), it was around 52-percent on total combined votes for the two parties. Right now? They’d be lucky to get 45-percent of national vote between them.

So let me get this straight

The state of Thuringia was being governed by the “Former” East German Communists, the CDU and AFD joined together in ousting them in favor of a Minister-President from the Free Democratic Party. This same combination could be governing federally too if Merkel was willing.

And then the media screamed FAR RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! (AFD is a mainstream conservative party to my eye) and said The CDU has a moral obligation to support communists over conservatives! The new Minister-President in Thuringia resigned. And Merkel’s successor in waiting Angela Krump-Clamslapper or whatever her name is, resigned as leader of the CDU because she had ordered CDU to never vote with the AFD (even though they were both actually voting for the FDP).

Do I have that right?

Absurd!

The Mitt Romneys of the CDU need to wake the eff up or else the Greens and Commies will end up taking over.
