“According to a press release, the City of San Antonio says it is actively monitoring Bexar County residents that have traveled back from China.
The residents are conducting 14-day self-quarantines at their own homes...
The San Antonio Metro Health Lab has also received its CDC-issued novel coronavirus test kits, which will take two weeks to be fully operational and will require an additional confirmation from the CDC...
The CDC believes the virus may appear between two to 14 days after exposure.”
Huh? The lab won’t be ready for another 2 weeks or the tests won’t be ready for 2 weeks? Either way, hardly effective for those today.
Up to 24 days says a Taiwanese scientist. So the two weeks won’t cut it for isolation.
This morning the news was Chinese now thinking incubation CAN be as long as 24 days.
This didn’t get ramped up until mid-January though seems to have started in December so we wouldn’t expect to be seeing cases until now moving forward.
I am sooo not liking the news of 14 days to symptoms. And then figure 5 or 7 days to sick enough to be hospitalized? In the meantime, that virus is doing a number on the lungs. Then you’ve got little to no residual immunity and subject to a second round with damaged lungs? But wait, now they are floating 24 days? This virus is very not cool.

That dad and his daughter sent back from Rady's to quarantine at Miramar received their results much quicker. Within days if you make inference...now they are telling us their isn't any uniformity in the test result times? Hmmmm
