General Motors is issuing a recall for certain Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 light-duty trucks because a software update may cause the failure of their electronic brake assist system.

Both scenarios are accompanied by the illumination of the "Service Brake Assist,” “Service ESC,” and “Brake System Failure” dashboard warning lights.

Stories like these and real life ones re starter fobs miss behaving and other electronic potential nightmares. Reinforces my wife and my plans to keep her 15 year old Lexus LS and my original Honda Ridgeline until they pass on or we do.

Had 5 GMs in a row ‘till they got in bed with obama. That was the end of that for the foreseeable future.

I found on a different site the recall is for 2019 GMCs & Chevys.

” GM is in the process of contacting owners of certain 2019 GMC and Chevrolet pickup trucks regarding possible brake failure. The issue could affect Cadillac CT6 owners as well.”

Not going to be able to drive today.
My eyes are rolling too badly in disgust, never would have thought the day would come when lousy computers would ruin our automobiles.

I’ve made it a point to not own any car long-term that requires computers to operate.
All of my “Keepers” are no newer than 1981, most are older than that.

Do you know why Dodge has such nice interiors in their pickups ??????????????

So you have a comfortable place to sit while you wait for the tow truck.
