President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.
Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.
Since entering the White House, Trump has relied on staffs smaller than previous administrations and has noted how prior president’s had a much smaller NSC team.

Trump knew full well who the holdovers were and where they were......even before setting foot inside the WH.
My sense is he left them there for a good reason......

Our President Trump learned his enemies’ tactics the hard way.
But, he HAS learned and is still learning.
Trump has become karma.
(1) Hired incompetent, Deep State Chief of Staff Reince Priebus
(2) Mike Flynn was targeted for destruction from Day 1, and Trump was boxed in by Senate GOP traitors into hiring Deep State scumbag McMaster, and could not lay a finger on the NSC.
“His advisers should have been better at communicating that to him. Unfortunately most of them were also deep staters.”
I said from the start President Trump should hire Freepers for all positions. There are many skilled people here who would have been just as capable job-wise as those traitors but would have been loyal to the President.

Yep. The worst moves Trump has made have come from humoring Ivanka. He put Jared in charge of staffing during the transition. (Jared promptly chucked all the work Christie had done on it, while bringing in compromised Israeli stooges to “vet” all hiring.) He also listened to Ivanka in trying to reconcile and go along with the Establishment, which of course about did him in.
I remember Roger Stone sounding the alarm on this back during the transition. He made the good point that there were plenty of truly Trump loyal state-level operatives who could have been brought in instead. (As the Clintons approached it.)
Only some of them should be heads on poles, but all of them had to go.
