Kel-Tec, 50 rd .22 magazine, P17, and Suppressed Sub 2000 at 2020 Shot Show

The CP33 is a tremendous market success. The P17 has not made its way to commercial dealers yet. The integrally suppressed Sub-2000 should be available this summer.

I know the early PMR30 had troubles with FTF but I understand they corrected that problem.
I wonder if this pistol shares much with the PMR?

I have thought about a PMR30 since I have a huge supply of .22 Mag that I shoot in my Magnum Research 10/22 mag rifle as well.

The PMR30 is the first Kel-Tec I’ve ever seriously considered.
Kel-Tec’s lac of quality in fit, finish and the extremely cheap toy feel they have had always kept me from them.

I carried a KelTec PMR30 for a while. It would be great for target rich Urban environments but I live in the country and rarely enter Hutu or Tutsi controlled areas. I got to thinking about defending myself in court having put 25 or so rounds in an attacker.

I now carry a Glock 36 but I still keep my KelTec P32 with me on the Harley. Don't even need a holster, just put a 1" cut in the bottom of my Wrangler's watch pocket, sits perfectly.

I have not fired the .22 mag version (PMR30).

It had a lot of problems.

So far, the reviews of the .22 LR version have been quite good, with the consensus that users need to pay attention and follow directions when loading the magazine.

I fired the CP33 at the Industry Day at the Range.

It had a very good trigger.

IIRC, the P32 is one of Kel-Tec's first products, but definitely a "keeper!" The P11/P40 (another early KT design) is a personal favorite...

In this case it was the trigger spring embedded in plastic that after firing for a while would basically crumble and you’d have to replace that whole lower assembly to fix it.

Hopefully the company addressed the issue, in a manner that satisfied the individual owners. That’s one thing that I hope I never have to pursue with Beretta; I’ve heard from LEOs (and others) that their customer support can be somewhat less than enthusiastic...

I have a Beretta Tomcat in .32 - nice. I love the tip up barrel feature plus it’s double action.

I looked for a 40 at gun shows, only found one and it was in terrible shape and in the serial number group with the feed problems.

I had a DPS Trooper ask me why I carry such a small weapon. I told him it was my "Get to" gun. Keep 'em busy until I Get to the Glock or the .357.

What I would not give for a Colt Mustang in 32 or 380, I am not picky either works perfectly well.

if a pistol has the Glock inspired trigger spur I will not buy it and I would use one only if I were being shot at and it was within reach. I prefer standard S/A automatics they have worked for more than a century and they still work.

More humans have been killed by the .22lr than another other round. So in theory this could be good, but Kel-tec is known for their hit or total junk miss products too.

I’ve owned a couple of P40s, plus a couple of 40 caliber P11 conversion kits, and have not had any issues with any of them. Maybe that’s luck (or maybe it’s because I don’t try to use the hottest ammo I can find in a 15 ounce pocket pistol! ;^). Lots of folks seem to emphasize ballistics above everything else - my personal priority is reliability. And you’re right about the “get to” gun; a friend has told me pretty much the same thing, although his stated preference is to “get to” a rifle or shotgun...
