Three people were arrested Saturday after a demonstration in downtown Portland, Ore., turned "violent" and a war memorial was vandalized, according to officials.
The Portland Police Bureau said the protesters gathered to counter a demonstration outside the Multnomah County Courthouse that was abruptly canceled.
Police did not provide details about the previously planned demonstration, but Oregon Live reported it was rumored to be a Ku Klux Klan white supremacy rally at a downtown park. Counter-protesters, including members of Antifa, still showed up even though police said the original event was scrapped.
"While the rally was being held and was peaceful, Portland Police officers stayed away," the police bureau said. "However, some people in the group began acting in a violent, threatening manner against attendees who were legally capturing photos and videos."

Maybe if we someday have a Presidency of someone like Donald J. Trump, Antifa could be treated like the now mostly defunct KKK or Neo-Nazis are.

Looks like a successful decoy event that brought the Antifa children out to play.
When they could not find their intended targets, they started in on the Police. The Police really don't like that sort of thing, and responded as one might expect them to do when faced with law-breakers.
Well played!

Communist agitators. Nothing less. Nothing more.

Why did Fox “News” deem it necessary to place the word “violent” in quotes? That is usually meant to signify some sort of question about the original characterization of something, isn’t it? Either the protest was violent, or it was not; questions need not be asked and it should be reported as such, right?

Maybe if we someday have a Presidency of someone like Donald J. Trump, Antifa could be treated like the now mostly defunct KKK or Neo-Nazis are. Sure, because Presidents have unlimited power and no accountability.

All depends on who’s ox is getting gored. Portland police usually just observe when AntiFa runs wild but I guess they will protect themselves.

Other objects, such as rocks, concrete, batons, cans and food were thrown at members of the public and officers. At least two incendiary devices, believed to be flares, were thrown into nearby traffic, police said.I guess Fox "News" didn't think these were "violent."

I’m surprised the cops weren’t ordered to help deface the memorial. It’s Portland after all.
