Iowa caucuses: Sanders campaign to ask for 'partial recanvass' of results (still counting)

Bernie Sanders’ campaign plans to ask for a “partial recanvass” of the results of last week’s Iowa caucuses.

A campaign aide confirmed the plans on Sunday night, ahead of a Monday deadline for candidates to ask the Iowa Democratic party to recanvass the results. A recanvass is not a recount, but a check of the vote count to ensure the results were added correctly.

The state party released updated results on Sunday showing Pete Buttigieg leading Sanders by two state delegate equivalents out of 2,152 counted.

The Associated Press remains unable to declare a winner because it believes the results may not be fully accurate and are still subject to potential revision.

“partial recanvass”

That's the Algore rathole of 2000, deja vous all over again.

MO in this case is for all parties to question the result, while one party putsches for recounting those areas likely to increase their count. Then other parties see what they are trying to pull, so they putsche for their beneficial partial recounts.

Current schedule;

February 11: New Hampshire primary
February 22: Nevada Democratic caucuses
February 29: South Carolina Democratic presidential primary

March 2020

March 3 (Super Tuesday): Alabama primary, American Samoa Democratic caucuses, Arkansas primary, California primary, Colorado primary, Maine primary, Massachusetts primary, Minnesota primary, North Carolina primary, Oklahoma primary, Tennessee primary, Texas primary, Utah primary, Vermont primary, Virginia Democratic primary

So after tomorrow, Iowa’s importance to the process will be mostly gone. If the dems don’t get it sorted out in 3 weeks, Iowa will be completely irrelevant to this election.

No, “technical issues” like the DNC Elite making sure their candidate does good and the others don’t

That’s why they went digital, so all the results could be controlled by them (without all those pesky polling people in charge) ... unfortunately the Iowa voters didn’t cooperate, so now they’ve had to clumsily manipulate the data to get the results they wanted

Just one more reason people are alienated by this Party and its ongoing tricks

Fiasco 2020

It’s time for a betting pool: if Sanders appears to be leading in New Hampshire, will there again be problems tabulating the votes?

Real history, as opposed to the academic flavor, reveals and revels in irony over this Iowa debacle! In 2016, on the Democrat side, there were 3 active participants but O’Malley was the designated ‘moderate’ loser against Hillary and Bernie.

While technically Hillary won, it was by a margin of .2 and with the ‘help(?)’ of an improbable award of 6 tied caucus meetings that her surrogates won by coin-toss. Really?!

It was so good that the local ‘Newspaper of Record’, the Des Moines Register, made a public plea for a FEDERAL AUDIT due to the Democrat’s “bizarre counting methods”. Obama’s DoJ, under AG Lynch, had no interest in any such thing.

FYI: In 2016 it was the GOP that had the crowded field. Anyone remember who won there? Hint: It was not The Donald!

This is like Al Gore demanding a Florida recount after the 2000 election only in the counties he could cheat in.

Yep and if GWB had any balls he would have fought back like Trump does but he didn’t.

The father of Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg was a Marxist professor who spoke fondly of the Communist Manifesto and dedicated a significant portion of his academic career to the work of Italian Communist Party founder Antonio Gramsci, an associate of Vladimir Lenin.

Bush did fight back. He won, didn’t he? Bush waged a major legal battle (I knew one of the lawyers), and prevailed.
