I agree though, the term “local health district” isn’t a common term in the states. Maybe the doctor is from Guatemala or somewhere. Or perhaps the term is something the CDC uses (although a quick web search didn’t bring anything up).
Hopefully the guy is still under quarantine, based on reports that even though one is cured of symptoms, they might still have the virus in them.
In the counties near me they are all called health departments. Up in Snohomish County where this guy lives, it is called a district.
I am on the other side of the state from Everett but “health district” is commonly heard or read on the local radio news and newspaper. Synonymous with the county, really, but specialized for public health support. Ive never had any problem with them and a girl I grew up with is a public health nurse there.
Nah. I went searching for more info
Hes the Arab/infectious disease doc for the health district that covers Everett. Hes been trained to think like that. Its govt overseeing lots of crap they shouldnt. Also a way for the AMA to control the number if hospitals built in an area
Supposedly started to help rural communities. As usual not the way it worked out
Other stories from the hospital describe the patient as being tended to by a robotic station in an isolation unit most of the time
