Can you imagine having to ride in one of the MANY high rise elevators, in NYC, right now??
Long waits to get on....stops at EVERY stinking floor...full of sneezy, snotty people....and, it’s your only way down (up), unless you want to hike 30 floors on the stairs.
It’s a mental illness.
Just enough of me, way way too many of all the rest of you!
But, as Kissinger said, fewer people are easier to control. So it’s not about the environment, it’s what they’ve got planned for the rest of the population once the cull is complete.

We’ve gotten some prescription refills, extra food, paper goods, etc. We have lots of camping supplies including camp stoves. We’re currently without pets, apart from an occasional mouse in the garage or garter snake in the basement. If the entire grid goes down, things get complicated. We’re better off than many. I’m in charge of worrying on behalf of the whole family. I do it best, and they don’t do their share.

I can’t imagine, honestly.
I may be wrong but I think authorities here are being quite cavalier. Or their simply not up to speed and the knowns and unknowns.

I know, its unreliable numbers from China, but Im posting this to show they have changed their CFR numbers:
WUHAN - The government of Hubei province, the central Chinese province that is the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, has given the official fatality rates for the virus for the first time, Chinese media reported.
Unexpectedly, Wuhan, the provincial capital city where the virus first emerged, registerd a fatality rate of 4.06 per cent, came in second. It was topped by Tianmen, a nearby city, which has a death rate of 5.08 per cent, Caixin Global reported on Sunday (Feb 9).

is now suspending all flights to Beijing and Shanghai until April 1st. These two China flights are among the biggest money makers for BA. If theyve given up on them, thats pretty effing big deal.
WHO on China changing its definition for a confirmed case: “We’re not aware of that change. We’ll check it out obviously, but we’re not aware of any significant change to the case definition, certainly not one that discounts lab-confirmed cases .. It sounds strange.”

I read the article and so far as I can see it does not state the denominator.
4.06% of who? Confirmed cases with symptoms? Confirmed infections? Confirmed residents-with-bat-breath?
What the article DOES state is that in Wuhan (and by implication, Tianmen), the health care facilities are insufficient to the task, apparently even with the (unmentioned) “instant hospitals” put up. No surprise, but it does confirm the potential of 2019-nCoV to create havoc. Adding a quite contagious pathogen with a significant mortality rate to the normal illnesses this time of year is a back breaker. I wonder how this will affect the flu fatality rate?
Interestingly, that change will push UP the fatality rate many publish.
