I keep seeing that erroneous 3,000 number bandied about.

GOP turnout for the caucus was about 31,500.

Democrat turnout was around 176,000.

Is a “moderate democrat” another name for a unicorn?

Probably. I was wondering if there were enough of them to make a circle

My apologies. Maybe that was the number of locations?

Not sure. There are 1,681 precincts in Iowa.

I just read that Mayor Pete supports “packing the Court”, and putting 15 on SCOTUS.

If you want the best for the future of America, please vote for Bernie in the primaries.

No, seriously... even if you are trying to pick the WORST they have to offer, how do you pick any one candidate out of that crowd?!?!?

Ah, here’s where I saw it, at the original (NYSlimes) page, the numbers are “S.D.E.’s*” state delegate equvalents :

It’s my understanding that Bernie collected more votes than Butti, in Iowa — but, Butti “won” the delegate counts, because votes by “people ocfcolour” were weighted higher. That suggests Butti got more minority votes, which doesn’t add up.

It’s not who votes that count, it’s who counts the votes.

They give precincts that voted Democrat for president or governor in the last election more weight. That means Black precincts might get more weight. But African-Americans are only 3.5% of the state’s population (and maybe more spread out than in other states), so in practice it’s college towns and liberal suburbs - places where Buttigieg would be strong - that get the extra weight.
