Bible in a Year:
He remembers that we are dust.
The young father was at the end of his rope. Ice cream! Ice cream! his toddler screamed. The meltdown in the middle of the crowded mall began drawing the attention of shoppers nearby. Fine, but we just need to do something for mommy first, okay? the father said. Nooooo! Ice cream! And then she approached them: a small, well-dressed woman with shoes that matched her handbag. Hes having a big fit, the father said. The woman smiled and responded, Actually, it looks like a big fit is having your little boy. Dont forget hes so small. He needs you to be patient and stay close. The situation didnt magically resolve itself, but it was just the kind of pause the father and son needed in the moment.
Echoes of the wise womans words are heard in Psalm 103. David writes of our God who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love (v. 8). He then continues by invoking the image of an earthly father who has compassion on his children, and even more so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him (v. 13). God our Father knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust (v. 14). He knows were small and fragile.
We often fail and are overwhelmed by what this big world hands us. What an amazing assurance to know of our Fathers patient, ever-present, abounding love.
When have you felt overwhelmed like a little child? How do you believe God the Father responded to you in that moment?
Thank You for being our patient, present Father who remembers who and what we are.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you have a good resting day?
We have had HIGH winds and 40 degree weather since early, early morning. All the trees are bare of snow and there are puddles everywhere!!

Wishing all our Jewish troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
a peaceful and prosperous week.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
It’s been really cold and snow here. Today was 21, so quite chilly.
I worked a couple hours doing some plumbing but not much else.
I’ve been fighting off a cold for a few days,
Sneezing, runny nose, and at time feeling lousy.
Can’t wait for this weather to be over.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Good evening, Luv, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thank you for the hymns.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Sorry I missed ya last night but our internet went ‘boom’ and was out for the rest of the night.
Have you and Gizmo been tearin’ it up at the lake? :-)
Yesterday was a nice one. We got to walk in the grass and also Gizmo wanted to do the rocks so we did that. We had a great time yesterday.
Today is Walmart/KFC Day. We also plan on doing the lake later today.
Believe me, I’m glad to be back online too! LOL Comcast’s problems aren’t just here, it’s happening across the country. Last night was terrible - on, off, on, off, then gone for the night. It’s still having its moments. grrrrrrr
It sounds like you had a good time with Gizmo yesterday. And like today will be even better ..... the lake AND KFC!
Same here. The wind has been brutal, knocking out powerlines, shaking my mobile home, etc.
