Gerrymanding is the drawing of lines of districts. The late Congress Critter had his district gerrymanded in Boston to stay in Congress. The party in power has the privilege to draw these districts up. Sometimes they change the borders of the district(s) to make it favorable to their party members. This is not uncommon for either party, demonrats or repubes, to redraw districts. This is one of the major reasons why third parties in the US have not been able to gain a foothold into the political system. Yes, redrawing of districts could and do change seats for those in the legislative branch at the Federal and State levels. However, states elect their Senators in statewide elections which is a far better cry than having the State leaders appoint our Senators due to the change in the Amendments of the Constitution.

The question while may seem idiotic to those who remember their Civics 101 but they also have to remember that Civics is rarely taught in schools today. Most often it is an elective unless the State has mandated that in order to graduate a course in Civics must be taken. Thus, this could be an attempt to educate the low-information voter and illegals (thanks Rush for this phrase). Currently three states, are in litigation involving gerrymandering. North Carolina and Michigan are two of those I know of. SCOTUS has said it will hear Michigan’s case which is the second gerrymandering case it will hear this year. The other is NC in which SCOTUS ordered new maps to be drawn in NC.

Good grief.

Joy Behar said the same thing not long ago on the view that the Republicans gained Senate seats due to gerrymandering.

Sadly the handful of viewers they have probably believed this.

Oops. I stand corrected. What’s her dad’s new fake “name?” Wasn’t it “Zoe?”

Forgive her. I’d be confused, too, if my daddy was now my mama.

She is not the first idiot to appear on the news and say this. Is there a DARR virus? How contagious is it? Symptoms include saying stupid things that other people have already said, and with a straight face.

They should Gerrymander the Presidency and Supreme Court too.

It should be illegal to be this stupid.

I’d love to redraw states though.

We talked about that back in the day.

Take Illinois out of Crook County. NOVA out of VA. Divide Cali. Abolish Delaware.
