When the man from Hangzhou returned home from a business trip, the local police got in touch. They had tracked his car by his license plate in nearby Wenzhou, which has had a spate of coronavirus cases despite being far from the epicenter of the outbreak. Stay indoors for two weeks, they requested.
After around 12 days, he was bored and went out early. This time, not only did the police contact him, so did his boss. He had been spotted near Hangzhous West Lake by a camera with facial recognition technology, and the authorities had alerted his company as a warning.
I was a bit shocked by the ability and efficiency of the mass surveillance network. They can basically trace our movements with the AI technology and big data at any time and any place, said the man, who asked not to be identified for fear of repercussions.
Chinese have long been aware that they are tracked by the worlds most sophisticated system of electronic surveillance. The coronavirus emergency has brought some of that technology out of the shadows, providing the authorities with a justification for sweeping methods of high tech social control.
Artificial intelligence and security camera companies boast that their systems can scan the streets for people with even low-grade fevers, recognize their faces even if they are wearing masks and report them to the authorities.
If a coronavirus patient boards a train, the railways real name system can provide a list of people sitting nearby.

Chinese uniformed police. Theyre professional, well armed and efficient in dealing with crime and social disorder.
This is how we’ll get the number of the beast.
“Let’s line up for your school photos, children... one shot from the front and one on each side.”
“Chinese uniformed police. Theyre professional, well armed and efficient in dealing with crime and social disorder.”
Sure and it’s easy for them to be “efficient” since they don’t have a pesky Constitution or Bill of Rights to keep them in check.
“After around 12 days, he was bored and went out early.”
China is a surveillance state and totalitarian. But the dude is still a first class A-hole.

But when it comes to shooting, almost none could hit a bull in the ass with a big bass fiddle. Very poor marksmen. First hand info.
Almost every hobby shooter in America is world class elite compared to any foreign cop.

I agree
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
Chinamen exposed to the virus ore flooding to the airports, cruise ships, taking fever reducers and getting on airliners.
There is a thing about Chinamen, they are rude AF. Probably comes from being packed in like sardines all the time. When they show up at a tourist site they have zero awareness of not ruining things for other people. Yellowstone and the Louvre are two memorable locations I experienced the yellow peril.
But according to "our" media Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox was a hero for breaking quarantine and going out for pizza...
Some talk on Twitter that maybe the Chinese authorities are using the virus outbreak as a pretext to round up dissidents.
seems like a good opportunity to round up and shoot dissidents. Probably exactly what they are doing
I have seen things to do to fool cameras with facial recognition but don’t remember what they are.
CDC surveillance state logs where people are searching for flu symptoms and the like within the US
Hi!
Lets not forget the swab
U.S. Declares public emergency, and puts forth 100 million dollars. Infections rise on cruise ship off Japan .
Yep born of eschatology here, Paul told Timothy to “strategize” (Grk) with the prophesies laid before. As we mentioned on another thread, handling paper money and coins becomes subject
