Having dealt with immediate family members hooked on drugs, I speak from experience.

How about trying tough love.

Tough love doesn't work on people physically and physiologically hooked on these drugs.

For those who willingly snort or swallow or shoot up drugs, just let them O.D. on the streets.

So you would let your son or daughter die on the street after your tough love failed? Really ?

Why should hardworking taxpayers be enablers for their filthy habits?

Personally, I don't think we should, but would you rather pony up for some needles and treatment or prison ?

Most people can’t keep one of their adult kids in the house during a hard drug addiction. The young person, if really addicted to something hard, is going to run at some point.

But here is something that can be done for those who aren’t useless cowards. First, keep a line of communication open, so open that your grown up kid will call when paranoid to the point of being afraid. Be ready to leave the house at a moment’s notice and ready for action. Be ready to do it all on your own, if your kid is a woman coveted by gangsters and corrupt, Slobovian, local officials.

When that call comes, go and demand that your child come home with you right then. Confront the dealers in front of your kid, but be prepared in every way for a fight with men who are armed and laying in wait. That leaves an impression, if your kid has enough of a soul left at that point in time.

It might save your kid and mean the difference between a lifelong addiction and misery for the whole family, or it might not. But would you rather be free or be slaves to the locals who are owned by a cartel?

That said, drug dealers should be put to death. Addicts who don’t redeem themselves or get rescued by their own family members before being caught should be put in concentration camps. It’s time to show the worst kinds of opportunists what a real war on drugs is.
