Trump allies Jordan, Meadows selected for top House GOP committee roles

Two of President Trump's biggest allies on Capitol Hill have been selected for top GOP roles on a pair of committees.

The House GOP Steering Committee met Thursday and recommended that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan serve as ranking member of the powerful House Judiciary Committee effective March 12, and that North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows take Jordan's spot as Oversight Committee ranking member for the remainder of this Congress, Fox News has confirmed.

The full conference now has to ratify the recommendation, which was first reported by The Hill. Current House Judiciary Committee Chairman Doug Collins, R-Ga., will step down from that post as he pursues a Senate seat.

Even though Kevin McCarthy would appear to be the likely Speaker of the House should the GOP regain control in November, I’d love to see Jim Jordan attain that position.

Also, it would be wonderful if he were in the mix to succeed PDJT in the White House in 2025.

Let’s not start a split. Let’s first win the house.

I didn’t hear Pres. Trump praise or acknowledge Elise Stefanik at that White House gathering. Shame because she was visible during the Intelligence Committee hearing and she put Schiff in his place several times.

Apparently his did praise her: https://nypost.com/2020/02/06/trump-praises-rep-elise-stefanik-new-york-post-during-speech-about-his-acquittal/

He went so quickly around the room for such a sustained time, that it would have been easy to miss.

He did indeed mention Elise....went something like....that sweet little girl....but when she opens her mouth...watch out. He praised her profusely.

All of these names have become superstars in my book, especially Jordan, Meadows & Collins. McCarthy has been a pleasant surprise after a tepid start, and Stefanik was very strong coming in the latter stages.

Yes he praised Elise. Said that when she opened her mouth the witnesses and Schift would cringe.

I guess that was a compliment. Some thin skin women may not have taken it that way

She needs to cut the carbs a bit...but I’ll still give her a pass for her service (and almost certainly having to deal with the constant death threats from the Left).

Trump did recognize Staphanik but he just said her first name. He gave her a nice kudo.

POTUS did indeed acknowledge Elise Stefanik yesterday, remarking about how she had been featured in a New York Post article and how FLOTUS was an enthusiastic supporter as well.

Elise stood us and received a hearty ovation
