WHO says coronavirus cases surge: ‘Most cases in a single day’

The number of cases for the flu-like coronavirus surged in the last day, with more than 3,100 new patients confirmed in China, World Health Organization officials said Wednesday.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a news conference that the reported cases are “the most cases in a single day since the outbreak started” Dec. 31.

That is just the reported ones. Anyone who dies outside the hospital is not tested and other things like a heart attack are listed as cause of death.

If so, folks with satellites know that they are. They know that factories are idle. So why hasn’t that info started affecting markets?

Might be due to the release of new test kits which I understand they had run out of prior. Lately the new cases had been leveling off, likely due to a shortage of test kits. I’d like to see numbers for a few more days.

Deaths are still increasing day-to-day. That’s been pretty consistent. Not exponentially, which is good, but still increasing.

Don’t know. ..just read articles from this morning from supposedly leaked information from a Chinese doctor. They said the pollution was bad in certain areas. One article state 25k is a more accurate death count. That’s all I know.
