Those growth rates don’t look bad at all...until you see that the Y axis is LOGARITHMIC.

Then why use a coronavirus strain that shows some preference toward those of Asian ancestry? (T-cells; alveoli cell receptors)
$$64M question: Just how much of a preference and how important is it in vivo?
This is not the flu. The only thing in common with the everyday flu is that they are viruses.
This is closer to SARs and MERs.
The R naught is probably twice that of the flu. It is easily two to three times that of the flu.
The hospitalization rate has to be higher—with almost 25% requiring significant time in intensive care departments.
The Fatality rate is about 2% overall, compared to less than .1%.
It is dangerous to compare this to the flu.
Finally, it’s presence in the country is comparable to China’s infection during the first week of December. We have a long way to go.

This thing attacks Chinese because China is full, to the brim, with Chinese.
It’s a shocker I know. The US population is practically a rounding error of China’s.
I would expect by now, say, 10% non-Asian cases mostly in other countries. Have we seen them? I don’t know.
