"Thanks for the local update for the US Senate AL race. Sounds like Sessions is stressing his loyalty to Trump during his campaign. Interesting. "

Hey friend.

I'm not 100% sure I'll vote for Sessions. I have yet to hear an explanation about what went on between him and Trump.

Sessions was an excellent senator though.

Do you know FR poster, “Alas Babylon”? Since he is from Alabama, I would bet he knows the scoop on Sessions.

Sessions refused to defend the President. That’s why he was given the boot.

“I have yet to hear an explanation about what went on between him [Sessions] and Trump.”

I am convinced there’s more to it than meets the eye. Maybe Trump will talk about it in his memoirs 10 years from now - maybe we’ll never know.

He was such a good senator, and seemed genuine and sincere. I do not believe he is deep state, nor do I believe he is “compromised” and under their control.

What I do think is that going up against a corrupt bureaucracy, is far, far more difficult and risky than people think. There’s way too many hostiles and you don’t know who they are. Being AG does not necessarily give you enough clout.

Hell, Donald Trump is POTUS, and tremendously strong one, and even he has been unable to root them out. Bill bar was supposed to be tough, Durham, etc.. I think it’s a lot tougher than it looks.

I think of it as being like getting rid of a thriving wasp nest in your gutter. You are up on a ladder with the can of poison. You need to be sure you kill them all or don’t kill any.

So maybe Sessions was too nice a guy to be suited for that job - it in my opinion, that’s about the worst I can say about him.

Back in the old days, Sessions showed up at a FReep in D.C. He was very nice, supportive of grass roots conservative efforts. Let me know when you find out what went down with him as AG.
