There *may* be months, but not necessarily *years*, I have seen patients with stage 4 cancer that have several months, and once in a while, a year or two. Rarely remission, but often, good and happy reprieves from treatment. Enough to say goodbye to their loved ones, and not everyone gets that luxury of time.
I hope for the year or two.
I hope for the year or two.
If it really is Stage 4 already, I think you’re right that it’s a matter of months.
My BFF died of lung and liver cancer. Not a smoker, not a drinker. Her ONLY hint that anything was wrong was a shortness of breath, but she thought that was due to her returning to Sea Level after visiting her sister in Colorado.
Nope. On the day of her diagnosis, they gave her 3 months; she told them to try out any and all experimental drugs on her so she could be of use to others. She made it to 6 months. In the end she was basically sedated all the time.
It’s already been 20 years and I still miss Cathy every day. :(
