He is not in this battle alone.....
Amen!!
Prayers being said, throughout the day, for dear Rush.
Thank you for starting this daily thread, Miss H.
Dear Rush, My better half and I have been listening to your show for 34 and 27 years, respectively. We feel like you’re part of our family and discuss the days program over dinner each evening. We have put you and your family on our daily prayer list for complete healing, peace and comfort. We have a great and merciful God who never leaves us or forsakes us.
I thought of you when I read this news
Never watched or listened to...just not a talk show kind of person.
But I have read parts of transcripts here and he seems very sharp and really on the ball.
I will say prayers for him.
Amen to your post. Stay strong, Rush. Lean on the Lord, for He is our strength and He can do exceeding, abundantly beyond what we ask or think. The Lord loves you, and you can see many on this side of eternity do, as well.
Let’s do this thing!
Ill be praying every day for Rush and his wife. Praying God will not only restore him to good health but use him to bring others closer to Jesus.
I was stunned, and exclaimed “Oh, no!” when I heard about Rush Limbaugh on a top-of-the-hour newscast. I’d listened to some of his show earlier in the day but not that part. Though occasionally saddened by the announcement of such news about others, I don’t ordinarily exclaim anything out loud. This hit especially hard.
I’ve been listening to his show since the early days in Sacramento, decades ago. True, I don’t ordinarily hear the whole three hours, but rarely do I miss hearing some of it. Over the years I’ve become personally fond of him. He says in the announcement at his site, “...I dont like making things about me other than in the usual satirical, parodic, joking way.” Yet he boasts all the time :-), and I’ve grown to like his cheerful tongue-in-cheek boasting — tongue-in-cheek in its outspoken manner, though I’m sure he really does believe he’s right nearly all the time (else he’d change his views). Also, though he’s usually more optimistic than I am, I’ve agreed with him politically almost as often as his facetious claim of 99% accuracy.
So news of this illness is not just a personal blow. I’m concerned about its effect on the country politically. The left controls nearly all of the mainstream media, education, Hollywood, and pop music. For decades Rush Limbaugh has been the most effective voice in bringing alternative views before the American people. Most persons, especially undecided or on the left, don’t hear him, I suppose, but I don’t doubt that some of his ideas filter through to them from listening relatives and friends. Also he probably has more listeners in those groups than some other insightful but more caustic radio personalities.
With an illness of that magnitude, the odds are against him, but let’s hope somehow he overcomes them. If not, it will be a great loss to the country. Then all we’ll be able to do is express our gratitude for what he’s done, and keep defending the causes he defended. He won’t be forgotten, but right now I’m not thinking about that. I want him to stay with us, alive and on the radio. Yes, let’s encourage him, as he’s encouraged us over the years. We need him.
This news makes me really sad. I have found that Rush articulates different sides of the same issues than I am considering. Always helpful. I sure hope he sticks around for a LONG TIME!
My confidence is in the Lord Jesus Christ and I am certain that whatever fate He has in store for Rush is already known to Jesus. With some of the current treatment options, perhaps he will survive for many years to come but we must also be prepared that he won’t.
I was already praying for Rush before he announced this due to his unexplained absences and the fact he was growing a beard from his podcasts. I can understand now why he seemed so choked up today over Olivia’s call. He has done such good for America and the world through his pontificating over the political landscape.
I have peace in my life (I’m in my 60s) that death for me will simply be a transition to a better existence and that there is no need to fear death. I am hopeful Rush already has this same sort of comfort from Jesus. If not, I pray that he find it because it is a life-changer. It’s liberating to know My Lord has already planned these events out and He just wants me to trust Him to take me across that last threshold.
For now, I’m just stunned and I wish there was something I could do to change it yet I’m consoled knowing that this is all within God’s plan and there is nothing to fear. If I could give El Rushbo anything it would be the Peace our Lord gives and the faith to let Christ handle the details.
Adding my prayers.....Lord, hear our prayers.
Praying with you...
